The 3rd Ruwwad for Development Day “Byout Ahalina” – June 1st
Friends of Ruwwad have celebrated Ruwwad Day by bringing together artists, business and social
entrepreneurs and our fellow citizens in Jabal Al-Natheef. The day started with a gathering of all
invitees in “Al Hayna” garden neighboring Ruwwad headquarters, followed by home visits to
families of Ruwwad’s employees. Home visits were an opportunity to establish hearing and dialogue
circles that focused on discussing the challenges that we face as citizens and families in such times,
where there’s hope but also a need for intensified efforts, tighter social ties and the will to work.

Extract of Statement of Ali Bu Sbeih in the Ceremony
"After thinking for so long, I decided that I should do what I like and I shouldn’t hide or be embarrassed or
scared. Upon completing my exams, I headed to the Royal Academy for Culinary Arts and asked about the
measures, details and payments and found out that the biggest problem is that fees were too expensive. I
knew I could apply for a scholarship at Ruwwad for Development and I participated in their activities, but I
was afraid that as a foundation they would reject my application for culinary studies with such burdensome
fees”.
