Medicare and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommend low dose CT lung screening for high risk patients as defined below. Those who have symptoms of a lung condition at the time of screening, such as a new cough or shortness of breath, are not eligible. • Medicare: 55-77 years old with 30-pack year smoking history and is a current smoker or has quit within the last 15 years • USPTF: 55-80 years old with 30-pack year smoking history and is a current smoker or has quit within the last 15 years NOTE: Eligibility criteria may vary depending on your insurance plan.
