the perfect balance between dynamic performance and effortless efficiency. A highcapacity direct injection system precisely controls fuel delivery, while a twin-scroll
turbocharger delivers more power – 317 PS (233 kW) – and instant throttle response.

The new 2.3-litre EcoBoost is the first Ford engine to
use a low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger. Together
with the integrated exhaust manifold that maximises
pulse energy to the turbine, the result is improved
responsiveness for overtaking manoeuvres, lower
emissions and improved efficiency.
With its specially-designed 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, the new Mustang is hungry for fun, not fuel. This powerful new
four-cylinder unit combines a low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger, high-precision direct injection and Twin
independent-Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT) to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, while maximising dynamic

Steering
Electronic Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS) delivers the
agility, turn-in precision and high-speed control expected
from a world-class sports car. Mustang’s system has three
settings – Normal, Comfort and Sport – plus the ability to
compensate for drift due to road camber or crosswinds,
and to counteract any high-speed wheel imbalance.
Front suspension
Sports-tuned front suspension uses a new double balljoint MacPherson strut system. Mounted on a stiff
subframe, it ensures superb road holding and driving fun,
even in the most extreme manoeuvres.
Rear suspension
Mustang’s advanced multi-link independent rear
suspension combines precise, agile handling with everyday
refinement. Aluminium components reduce unsprung
mass, while the stiff structure helps retain razor-sharp
control of the wheels.

AGILE
While Mustang has always been a unique
sports car, now the experience soars to a
new high. The all-new chassis with fullyindependent suspension is designed to
make this the most agile Mustang ever. Add
to that its low centre of gravity, a limited slip
differential and selectable driving modes
and you’ll find Mustang is equally at home
on the hairpin bends of a mountain pass,
on the motorway or in town.
Limited slip differential
Mustang’s mechanical limited slip differential is ideally
suited to rear-wheel drive sports cars. Should one wheel
start to slip, engine torque is automatically transferred to
the other wheel. This greatly improves traction and
agility during acceleration out of corners and on slippery
surfaces.
Selectable driving modes
Mustang also comes with electronic chassis calibration.
Four driver-selectable modes – Normal, Sport+, Track
and Snow/Wet – determine throttle response, gearshift
points (on automatic transmission models), steering
effort and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) calibration
to suit different driving conditions.

Mustang lets you adapt your car’s performance to suit
your driving style. Switch on the ignition and full
AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is
engaged. Press the ESC button once to disengage
Traction Control, or twice to reduce the level of
assistance of ESC. Press and hold the button for more
than five seconds to fully disable the ESC system. The
choice is yours.
AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Mustang’s AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is designed to
automatically compensate for loss of control due to oversteer (1) or
understeer (2). The system detects sudden changes in steering, braking
and vehicle attitude, and adjusts the speed of individual wheels to help
keep you safely on track.
CONFIDENT
High-performance cars need highperformance brakes, and the new Ford
Mustang is no exception. Created with safety
and control in mind it features four-piston
brake callipers (six-piston front callipers on
GT models), as well as ventilated discs front
and rear. A powerful anti-lock braking
system (ABS) provides sure-footed stability,
while Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) and
Electronic Brake Prefill help achieve the best
possible stopping power.
Braking system
For optimal performance, vehicles fitted with the 2.3
EcoBoost engine feature a powerful anti-lock brake
system (ABS) with four-piston callipers and 352x32 mm
ventilated front discs. GT models are equipped with sixpiston Brembo front callipers, as well as even larger
380x34 mm diameter front discs and front brake cooling
vents for ultimate stopping power.
Tyres
To ensure maximum grip and rewarding handling, 2.3
EcoBoost models are fitted with 255/40 R19 tyres all
round. The V8-powered GT gets larger 275/40 R19 tyres
on the rear to maximise performance potential.

applied standard test procedure enables
comparison between different vehicle types and

efficiency of a car, driving behaviour as well as
other non-technical factors play a role in
determining a car's fuel consumption and CO2
emissions. CO2 is the main greenhouse gas
responsible for global warming. A guide on fuel

The fuel economy figures quoted in the table left are achieved by following strict EU governed test procedures and are specifically designed to
