POLICIES AND TERMS FOR DRAPERY ENTERPRISES
PAYMENT TERMS:
Our terms are – 50% Down Payment to start job, Balance due upon completion. If we are
installing your job, the balance is due at time of installation. If the installation date is beyond 2
weeks of completion date, or if we are not installing your job, the balance is due at completion of
fabrication. We accept Visa & MasterCard, American Express and Diner's Club. Returned
checks will be charged a $55.00 processing fee.
WORKORDERS AND CHANGES:
All work orders and/or changes must be in writing on Drapery Enterprises work order forms.
This will improve communication and reduce errors. By completing all information on the work order
forms, it greatly reduces the need for us to call you with questions which can delay your job. Please
make a copy of the enclosed work orders for your records. Changes made after production has begun
will incur additional charges and will increase lead time.
Please include only one type of treatment per work order and attach a swatch of the fabric and/or trims
whenever possible. Staple these to the work order with the face and up direction marked. You can
mail, fax or email orders and changes. Drapery Enterprises will not be held responsible for orders
or changes not confirmed in writing.
Because names of treatments vary from workroom to workroom and from one part of the country to
another, please use the item numbers and treatment names as specified in our price list on work orders
and when communicating with the workroom. It is always best to include a sketch, photo or magazine
picture with your work order.
LEAD TIMES:
Lead time is typically 4-6 weeks. Lead time begins when a 50% Down Payment, a completed work
order and ALL materials necessary to complete a job are received. Lead times are subject to change at
any time. Upcoming holidays, large jobs, back orders and fabric flaws may lengthen lead times.
Please always call before promising a completion or installation date to your client.
SCHEDULING ORDERS:
Jobs are completed on a first come, first serve basis. Jobs will be added to the schedule when a
completed work order, including your 50% Down Payment and ALL materials necessary to fabricate
the treatment are received. Until then, a completion date cannot be guaranteed.
RUSH ORDERS:
Rush orders, or jobs taken out of order, will be available on an “as possible” basis and will only be
completed after receipt of your 50% Down Payment and ALL necessary materials and completed
work orders. This option may not be available during the holidays. Rush orders will incur a 30%
upcharge. Please check with the workroom for the current lead times and job schedule before sending
rush orders.
HOLIDAY CUT-OFFS:
Typical holiday cut-off dates are: Thanksgiving – October 1st, Christmas – November 1 st, however
these are subject to change. Please check with Drapery Enterprises for current holiday cut-off dates
and before promising a completion or installation date to your customer.

ORDER CANCELLATION:
If you wish to cancel a job, you will be charged for supplies ordered and/or used and for labor already
completed.
INSTALLATION:
Drapery Enterprises offers professional installation. We are licensed and bonded, CA license #822552.
Your presence at installations will ensure that treatments are installed as you planned. Please ask your
customer to remove furniture and valuable or sentimental items from the work area before installation
begins. For safety purposes children and pets should not be in the installation area.
WINDOW TREATMENT PROPORTIONS:
Please be aware that a treatment may turn out to look different from the photograph or drawing sent if
the proportions of your client’s window are different from the window in the photograph or drawing.
For that reason, we always suggest drawing treatments to scale before sending your work orders. If the
same treatment is being made for multiple windows of various sizes, the treatments’ design or
proportions may need to be altered to appear uniform or harmonious from one window to the next.
PRICELIST ILLUSTRATIONS:
In an effort to improve communication between you and Drapery Enterprises, we have provided
illustrations of various treatments. These are meant to be representations of the finished product only
and are not exact photographic images. We recommend sending photos or magazine clippings of
treatments and dimensioned drawings whenever possible to avoid misinterpretations.
DROP-SHIPMENTS:
If you are drop-shipping merchandise, please have the vendor company mark it with your company
name and your customer’s name. Instruct the fabric company to send you a swatch for your approval,
and indicate fabric details on your work order. Drapery Enterprises shall not be held responsible for
treatments made from incorrectly drop-shipped or miss-labeled fabric.
FABRIC SHIPMENTS:
All fabrics should be rolled on tubes. If fabric is flat-folded, there may be an additional charge for
pressing. We cannot guarantee removal of creases.
FABRIC INSPECTION AND FLAWS:
In our attempt to create the highest quality product, every effort will be made to inspect for and cut
around flaws, when possible.
APPROPRIATE FABRIC FOR THE TREATMENT:
If you have questions about how a fabric will work for a specific treatment, please send a swatch with
a picture or drawing and specifications for the proposed treatment. We will be happy to assist you with
your choices. However, it is ultimately the designer’s responsibility to choose fabrics suitable for the
treatments being fabricated from them.

FABRIC STABILITY:
No fabric is completely stable. All fabrics stretch and shrink due to yarn content, weather, humidity,
and construction. Loose, open weaves and stretchy fabrics are particularly susceptible to changes in
length. Drapery Enterprises shall not be held responsible for length changes due to the above factors.
FABRIC DURABILITY:
All fabrics wear differently depending on the amount and type of usage, exposure to sunlight,
moisture, humidity or dirt, and cleaning and pressing methods used. Drapery Enterprises shall not be
held responsible for how a fabric wears now or in the future.
FABRICS REQUIRING AN SURCHARGE:
An extra 35% will be added for fabrics requiring additional steps or special handling in
fabrication. Examples of fabrics requiring an up charge are velvet, linen, quilted fabrics, lace,
casement and crewel. If you are in doubt about your fabric, please send a swatch along with
specifications for the proposed treatment.
FIRE RETARDANT FABRIC:
An extra 25% will be added for Fire Retardant (FR) fabrics. FR fabrics must be indicated on the work
order and the fabrics clearly marked. Drapery Panels will be charged a flat rate of $5.00 per width.
SHEETS:
There is an additional labor charge of $15 per sheet used to fabricate from sheets. Creases may
not press out and the pattern may not be able to be matched at the selvage. Because of this, more
sheets may be needed than originally planned on.
LINING:
Lining is suggested to protect your clients’ fine fabrics. Lining is not included in the price unless
otherwise specified. Please indicate on the work order the type and color of lining. Please also specify
interlining if needed. See our available linings price list..
COM LINING:
$2.50 per yard will be charged for using COM lining, due to logistics.
ALTERATIONS AND REMAKES:
Items sent for alterations or remakes must be cleaned first. Drapery Enterprises shall not be held
responsible for existing damage or fading, and cannot guarantee removal of creases or stitch marks.
New lining must be used for remakes.
YARDAGE CALCULATION:
Please call for assistance if you are unsure about calculating yardage. We can provide you with charts
and formulas to assist you in your calculations. If you need our assistance, the fee is $50 per hour.
When computing yardage, remember to allow for pattern repeats and centering of pattern motifs when
necessary. We recommend ordering 1 to 2 extra pattern repeats per job.

INSUFFICIENT YARDAGE AND FABRICATION METHOD CHANGES:
If there is insufficient yardage, there will be a minimum charge of $35 for unrolling, inspecting,
re-rolling and refiguring insufficient yardage. If you ask us to change our standard method of
fabrication (use methods which are more time-consuming), there will be an extra cost by the hour.
Please indicate on the work order the method you wish to use and how you planned the fabric cuts.
PARTIAL WIDTHS:
Please round up to full units when pricing products. All partial widths are charged as whole widths.
Widths are figured by the panel. Example: A three width pair of draperies is billed as four widths or
two widths per panel. Example: A 1 ½ width panel is billed as two widths.
ORIGINAL OR UNUSUAL TREATMENTS:
We will be happy to fabricate treatments not shown in the price list. Please submit photos or drawings
with dimensions along with fabric swatches. Mock-ups can be fabricated if necessary at a cost of
$50 per hour.
SHIPPING CHARGES:
Delivery and pickup are your responsibility. Upon request, we will deliver to you for a $25 fee when
we are in the area. If we are shipping to you, the cost of shipping & handling will be added to your
order. Oversized items may need to be shipped freight at an additional cost. To reduce the amount of
delivery and pickup needed, you may drop-ship fabrics to the workroom. Work orders may be mailed,
emailed or faxed. If we are installing your product, delivery is included.
PRICING AND SPECIFICATIONS:
Due to the custom nature of this industry, prices and standard specifications are subject to change
without notice. Please use this price list as a guide. Unforeseen problems, such as difficult fabrics, may
necessitate an extra cost.
ESTIMATES:
Estimates are subject to change once we have the fabric, final measurements and completed work
orders in the workroom. Estimates are good for 60 days.
GUARANTEE:
Drapery Enterprises guarantees its work for 30 days from the invoice date. Please inspect treatments
upon receipt and before installation to assure proper sizes and correct fabric. Drapery Enterprises shall
not be held responsible for charges to reinstall treatments. We reserve the right to correct any
problems with an order and will do so immediately. Designer errors will be reworked as soon as
possible at your expense. Additional costs will be added for: pressing, and/or refolding treatments that
are not returned to the workroom in the same condition as they left.

CONSULTATIONS IN SHOP:
Yardage calculations, write work orders, fabrication planning, etc., $50 per hour.
Payment is due at time of service.
CONSULTATION AT JOBSITE:
$80 per hour includes check measure and travel time. Payment due upon receipt of invoice.
ARCHES:
Please call for a quote. Depending on size and type of fabric, there will be a minimum of 50% extra
cost.
STORAGE:
Drapery Enterprises is not responsible for fabrics left in the shop over 30 days. If you want leftovers
returned to you or your client, please specify on your work order.

Swags are cut on bias if possible. Swags not cut on bias or from stiff fabrics may not have
smooth, rounded folds. Breaks in the folds may occur. Interlining will sometimes help soften
breaks.
Swags from directional fabrics may need to be cut straight for design integrity
If exact swag drop length is specified, workroom will fabricate swag as close as possible to
desired length. Exact drop lengths cannot always be achieved depending on swag width
