OCC PROMOTION AT SPBC
SPBC COLLECTION WEEK—November 18-25
Your shoeboxes, filled with gifts, will go all over the world to hurting and needy
children. We will place them into cartons, right here at our Relay Center. Then
they will go to a Processing Center in North Carolina. From there, they will
continue their journey by ship, oxcart, camel, truck, bicycle and on foot to over
130 countries. Remember: 1 shoe box = 1 child = 1 Gospel opportunity!!!
Last year we collected 342 boxes!
Let’s surpass that number this year!
Sunday Emphasis in November:
November 3 – “Shoebox Demonstration”
November 10 – “OCC Special”
November 17 – “What’s your favorite thing about OCC?”
November 24 – “Dedication Sunday”
We are collecting boxes in our Fellowship Hall on the following dates/times:
Mon: Nov 18 - 10am–12pm
Tues: Nov 19 - 4pm–7pm
Wed: Nov 20 - 10am–12pm
Thurs: Nov 21 - 10am–12pm / and 4pm–7pm
Fri: Nov 22 - 4pm–6pm
Sat: Nov 23 - 10am–12pm
Sun: Nov 24 - 12:30pm–3pm
Mon: Nov 25 - 10am–1pm
We need volunteers for our drop off days! There is a sign-up sheet in the Great Commission
Center. You can choose one or multiple time slots (they are broken down into 1 hour increments).
We are hoping to have 5 people per time slot. Children under 12 may help, but will not count as
one of the 5 people.
Thank you for giving to OCC — so children all over the world may have the opportunity
to know God’s love for them — through our gifts and the Gospel!

YEARS
“WEE” Words
"God made everything beautiful in it's own season". The children have been very busy turning their classrooms into places of celebration for harvest and Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful turn out for our Open
House. Thanks go to Imogene and Virgil Brewster and Emily Kirby for assisting us with the set up and refreshments. It was great to see so many of our parents enjoying some of the same activities that the children
enjoy every day. Our visits to the Pumpkin Patch, the firehouse, and visits from the Friendly Firefighter have
all been fun! We always enjoy our Harvest Parties and appreciate so much the goodies that our families provide for us. Our children also participated in our Hop-A-Thon to raise money for our equipment fund and
maintenance of our school. We have some great hoppers. Please remember those pledges.
We are now preparing to learn about the native Americans and the Pilgrims. Everyone will be preparing a
feast as we thank God for our many blessings. Believe it or not, Christmas is approaching. The children will
be participating in our mission projects. We collect mittens, hats and socks for the Baltimore Rescue Mission
and also prepare gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Many adventures ahead and with some we need
your help. Our Christmas Programs will be presented on December 18th, 19th and 20th. Help will be needed
to serve our cookies and punch to the families attending. If you can assist us, please call the school office at
410-647-8162. Please keep us in your prayers as we all strive to do our best to serve our Lord through this
ministry.
With a grateful heart, Judy Myer

BUILDING & GROUNDS @SPBC
If you have not noticed:
The eaves around the church have been cleaned, repaired, and painted. We had
quite a bit of rot along the sanctuary roofline, but that is now good for another 15
years or more :)
During the summer Nick Swartz and Nate Robb worked around the church and
helped clear a lot of brush out of the prayer garden, around the playground, and along the
sidewalks. They also took care of a lot of little “honey do” jobs around the church building and
property. Thanks for a great job.
Travis Prettyman has been working as a handyman lately. He has repainted all the exterior
doors, the wrought iron railings, and is working on the upstairs hallway.
We are still looking for people who like to work on flower beds, to help with
maintaining the flower beds and prayer garden. If we do not take care of them,
then we pay our grass cutters to take care of them.
As always, please let Brenda (The Office) know if there are things that you notice that need to be fixed. Just like a home, there is always something to take
care of.
Thank you. The B&G Team. Josh Fisher, Sandra Gray, Jason Robb, David Weed.
