i–d–e–e.it is the first educational multiplatform entirely dedicated to Italian for foreigners. In a simple and secure environment, it offers: The first ever platform for teachers and students of Italian i–d–e–e.it (italiano–digitale–edizioni–edilingua, or Edilingua Italian Digital Editions) is the first ever educational platform created especially and exclusively for teachers and students of Italian. It is a “blended” learning environment, meaning it combines the use of printed materials and classroom lessons with a range of digital education materials that are accessed online. i–d–e–e.it is actually a multi– platform, since it brings together a wide range of different educational technologies for teachers and students in a single learning environment. The aim of i–d–e–e.it is to improve lessons in the classroom. Firstly, it helps to save teachers a considerable amount of time (since exercises and tests can be corrected automatically), which can then be used for other activities in class, such as oral or group work. It also helps to motivate and involve students, with its range of innovative and easy–to–use resources, which encourage communication and creativity, and make studying more effective. Schools and teachers of Italian can access the platform for free and make use of all the available resources. Students can access i–d–e–e.it by using a personal code found inside their textbooks—Edilingua textbooks, of course!—or they can shop online for access time that allows them to use i–d–e–e.it materials and resources (they can either do this themselves or their school can do it for them). The following materials are available in their entirety to use interactively on i–d–e–e.it: Nuovo Progetto Italiano (page 9) Arrivederci (page 7) Primo Ascolto (page 25) The Italian Project (page 9) L’italiano all’università (page 13) Ascolto Medio (page 25) For teachers and schools… An Innovative Learning Management System Class management, virtual gradebook, analytics, etc. Incredible New Possibilities Possibility to create interative tests and games, blogs and much more; you’ll save both time and money. The course is aimed at students who can already read and write in their native language. All materials and topics have been carefully selected to be motivating, authentic and related to the students’ everyday life. Each grammar element is presented separately so that students can focus their attention one element at a time. This methodology offers ways to study Italian language and culture in-depth. It is suitable for students at the intermediate to advanced level, able to get in touch with the social and cultural dimensions presented in the short film. Each text analyzes four short films, each corresponding to different abilities, and divided into 3 sections: u Comprehension and analysis of the short film u Analysis of a civilisation topic u Suggestions for communicative activites (which can be found only in the teacher’s guide) For each short film there is an introduction that gives essential information about the short film, such as title, director, year of production, actors, plot, etc. Beginning / Intermediate Level Student Book Teacher’s Guide & DVD 9788855701402 9788855701389 $21.00 $27.00 Intermediate /Advanced Level Student Book Teacher’s Guide & DVD 9788855701419 9788855701426 $21.00 $27.00 www.deltapublishing.com VIDEO QUADERNI SERIES OF DI CINEMA ITALIANO PROGETTO DI PER STRANIERI CULTURA ITALIANA Paolo E.Balboni For a student, watching a movie in a foreign language is very motivating, but sometimes difficult. This series tries to confront this problem with small books dedicated to some of the most famous Italian movies. Some scenes are selected to give students the ability to enter into the story, to know the characters, to hear the variety of Italian language variances, and finally to make them ready to view the entire movie. In the first part of the volume, students find information about the author, the director, the places, interviews, biographies, links on Internet, etc. The second part consists of activities, analysis, vocabulary exercises, idiomatic expressions, etc. In this way, the experience of these scenes becomes a key to access Italian culture from the last fifty years. For every new word we learn, we seem to forget two old ones, and as a result, fluency can seem out of reach. Fluent Forever tackles this challenge head– on. With empathy for the language–challenged and abundant humor, Wyner deconstructs the learning process, revealing how to build a foreign language in your mind from the ground up. Starting with pronunciation, you’ll learn how to rewire your ears and turn foreign sounds into familiar sounds. You’ll retrain your tongue to produce those sounds accurately, using tricks from opera singers and actors. Next, you’ll begin to tackle words, and connect sounds and spellings to imagery, rather than translations, which will enable you to think in a foreign language. And with the help of sophisticated spaced–repetition techniques, you’ll be able to memorize hundreds of words a month in minutes every day. Soon, you’ll gain the ability to learn grammar and more difficult abstract words––without the tedious drills and exercises of language classes and grammar books. This is brain hacking at its most exciting, taking what we know about neuroscience and linguistics and using it to create the most efficient and enjoyable way to learn a foreign language in the spare minutes of your day.
