amantha kimel and jeffrey gottesman first met in university , but
it wasn’t until years later when they were reacquainted at a mutual
friend ’ s dinner party , ( and after a “ long chase ,”) that samantha
agreed to go out with Jeffrey. Their engagement took place on what, at first, seemed
to be a regular night at home as the couple got ready to stay in and enjoy a movie
together. Much to Samantha’s surprise, instead of any old blockbuster, a proposal
video featuring Jeffrey singing an original song came on the screen! Needless to
say, after such a romantic gesture, Samantha said “yes!”
Samantha and Jeffrey hired Naomi Serkin of naomi serkin & associates
to provide full-service planning and design assistance for their September 6,
2015 wedding.
The ceremony took place at Beth Sholom Synagogue, where the couple recited
their vows under a magnificent chuppah draped by eventure custom
environments and event draping and designed by frank rea event
design - forget me not flowers oakville. Samantha’s family had worked
with Frank Rea on other family events over the years, including her bat mitzvah,
so she naturally felt confident in his ability.
Frank Rea and Naomi Serkin worked in harmony on the event design, conceptual
planning, decor rental selection and coordination for the entire event.
The reception was held at the bride’s family home in Toronto, Ontario where a
‘garden oasis’ was brought to life.

event rental group provided and erected three tented areas in the beautiful
garden surrounding the property. The cocktail tent, with a carpet from
robinson show services, was beautifully draped in grey, sheer fabric provided
by eventure custom environments and event draping. The lounge area’s
furniture and modern, white chandeliers were provided by contemporary
furniture rentals inc.
In addition to the cocktail and main reception tent, a third tent encompassed
the existing gazebo on the property and gave guests the opportunity to relax
at the end of the night and enjoy the late summer evening.
Guests walked through a
tree-lined walkway, with
hundreds of candles
strung from the branches.
A glorious oversized pair of

BACKYARD
OASIS
Following cocktails, guests were escorted along a
carpeted walkway to the main tent where dinner was
being served. The spectacular glass wall tent took
event rental group several weeks to erect. It was
constructed over a sunken tennis court with 30-ft of
scaffolding supporting the complex structure.
A breathtaking custom printed fabric ceiling designed
by Frank Rea and produced by dance floor décor
was installed by eventure custom environments
and event draping. Naomi and Frank had hired a
photographer in San Francisco to shoot the ceiling of
the Palace Hotel, the design of which was then recreated on fabric to echo the look of a traditional, glass
conservatory. Custom lucite tables from frank rea
event design - forget me not flowers oakville
were decorated with four varieties of low centrepieces composed of elegant white roses, with each
vase featuring a different type of rose. Crystal candleholders and candelabras illuminated each table and
provided additional sparkle.
To complete the room, Dance Floor Décor produced
a vinyl design for the dance floor that was a replica
of the sleek flagstone at the front of the house.
