Landstar broke ground on a new cross border logistics
center in April. The 31,000 square foot cross border
logistics center is located on a 50 acre site in Laredo,
Texas.
“As our cross-border operations have expanded,
Landstar has outgrown the current facility in Laredo,
Texas,” said Landstar Executive Vice President of
Operations Eric Meyer. “The new facility, located in
the heart of the Mines Road business district, will better
serve Landstar’s customers, capacity and agents and put
Landstar in a unique position to advance its cross-border
operations.”
The facility will allow Landstar to continue growing
its Mexico service offerings which include truck, rail,
LTL, transload, customs brokerage and freight forwarding
services. A 30-bay cross dock and transload facility is
planned at the new Laredo center, as well as a dedicated
and expanded heavy haul section of the yard, which will
include a 120 ton stand-alone bridge crane.
The facility will also offer Landstar BCOs and capacity
providers a spacious lounge and media center. Landstar’s
Cross Border Logistics Center is expected to be completed
by the end of 2016.

For the fifth consecutive year,
Landstar was recognized among
the “Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive
For,” during the Truckload Carriers
Association (TCA) 2016 Annual
Convention. Landstar Vice President
of Safety and Compliance Mike
Cobb attended the convention, held
March 6-9 in Las Vegas.

Among 17 trucking companies to

This is the eighth year of the TCA
survey which is open to all U.S. and
Canadian fleets which operate 10
or more trucks. To be considered,
fleets must be nominated by either

Landstar Milestones
Landstar is delighted to recognize those employees who will reach a milestone of 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years
of service with the company this year. Their hard work and on-going commitment to Landstar over the years is to be congratulated.
40 Years

40 Years
Ethelynn “Pearl” Mackey
Director of Human Resources
The best part of my job is: “The opportunity to
help others.”
The accomplishment I am most proud of is: “Being
a cancer survivor and my family: husband, 3 sons,
7 grandchildren and number 8 will arrive in July.”
The one thing I want people to remember about me:
“I truly cared about Landstar’s employees for over
40 years.”
My motto: “Always treat others with respect and
dignity and try to do more than is expected of you.”
Contractor Services Representative, BCO Services
My Motto: “Live life to the fullest daily and
pray daily.”
The accomplishment I am most proud of is:
“My daughter.”
I still can’t get the hang of: “Not talking too fast.”
My greatest inspiration at Landstar is: “The drivers,
because after a while they become family.”

Al Reisman
Executive Vice President, Northern Field Division
The best part of my job is: “Working with such
amazing people. I have developed some great friends
over the years at Landstar. Seeing our agents grow
their agencies to coincide with their dreams is very
gratifying.”
I still can’t get the hang of: “Dancing, I am just
horrible at it. My own wife will not dance with me.”
The thing I want people to remember most
about me: “That I treat people fairly and with respect.
I never make a quick response to other’s actions and always provide them with
the benefit of the doubt, as you never know who might be having a bad day.”
