2012 Windsor Fair 4-H Baby Beef & Market Lamb Auction
On behalf of the Windsor Fair Board of Trustees and the 4-H youth Development program and youth
participating in this auction, I wish to thank you for attending this 4-H/Windsor Fair auction and for supporting
the 4-H program through your purchase of a 4-H raised auction animal. Today we have 18 beef animals and 6
lambs to sell.
The market animal 4-H project is a huge commitment for both 4-H member and family. Daily care of these
animals, feeding, grooming, exercising and training is an ongoing commitment from the day the animal is
purchased or owned. These youth learn about nutrition, fitting and showing their animals along with health and
growth and conditioning needed to make these animals ready for market. The culmination of this project is with
you, the potential buyers of his or her market animal at the Windsor Fair Auction today.
All youth will be in the sale barn where the market animals are throughout the weekend. Please take the time to
ask the 4-H members about their animals, the feed, the grooming and conditioning and the amount of time and
money they invested in their market beef or lamb.
We have Todd Pierce from West Gardiner Beef available to talk with you about the meat processing.
We thank you for supporting this auction through your willingness to purchase animals from the youth. You
will see the 4-H members wearing t-shirts this year with a list of 2011 buyers on the back of their t-shirts. We
look forward to having your name/business advertised on the shirts next year. Thank you for your generosity!
