About “BL&AHP”
BETWEEN LOVE & A HARD PLACE is a faith based feature film that tackles the trials and triumphs of
marriage. Targeted for the urban market, however, it is not limited in its appeal to married couples and
families of all ages, and races. The film stars BernNadette Stanis, Beverly Gray an overbearing mother of
two sons. Marcus Gray the elder son who is a work-a-holic is played by IronE Singleton. Playing Gerald
Gray the younger brother with a sorted past is new comer Canton Jones. Gerald’s frustrated wife and
Beverly’s sassy daughter-in-law Alicia Gray is played by Kiara Akita. Finally Nina Nicole plays Mark’s
humble but desperate wife Olivia Gray.
The film was shot on location in Carrollton Georgia with a top notch crew that included Brent Brook as
Co-Director of Blank Stage Studios, Filmmaker Randy Stewart as DP and was edited by the multi talented
Byron Erwin. The film's writer, Regina Wells, is no newcomer to creating powerful stories. An established
writer in her hometown, Regina has produced numerous Gospel plays that have captured the hearts of
many and built quite a nice fan base for her in Carrollton where she resides. The film is based in part on
the book “The Four Keys to Marriage. A powerful book written by Bishop Barry D. Walker, the book takes
and in-depth look at the roles and responsibilities of married couples and is strategically placed in the
film as a tool that can help mend broken marriages.
Goals
Showing the World Jesus in a REAL Way
By producing productions that have spiritually
uplifting themes, reaching out to people of all ages,
genders, and races while dealing with real life
scenarios, we stay true to GMP’s motto of “Showing
the World Jesus in a Real Way!”
Relationships
By depicting issues many married couples face
concerning prioritizing family life balanced with
work, past relationships, in-laws and the effects parents’ relationships have on their children, as well as
how the past can affect our present. Another objective of this film when it comes to families is dealing
with in-laws. Our third objective is to show the effects parent’s troubled relationships can have on their
children.
Reaching out to men
Geared towards men, this film’s main objective is to open their eyes to issues within the family that men
may sometimes over look. One of our main goals with this film is to make sure men see themselves, and
are encouraged to stand strong and fight for their families and marriages, no matter what situations they
may face.
Jesus Is Love
4
When it is all said and done, it is the love of and for Jesus Christ that can bring peace to any situation.
The film’s conclusion and goal is to show that in any situation, the power of prayer and faith in God can
help anyone overcome any obstacle. Spiritual guidance can open eyes to reveal our problems and may
seem to have us in a hard place, but in the end love conquers all!
Log line
When instincts of the flesh battle with the
commands of God, two brothers must overcome
great odds and be true husbands despite an
over-bearing mother with a dark past.
Tag line
Sometimes you have to choose.
Synopsis
Two brothers, raised in an abusive home, battle their childhood issues while trying to learn what it
means to be good husbands and fathers. Mark, a successful business man, is at war with his family and
career trying to decide which one is more important, while his wife feels he has abandoned her for his
work. Gerald, a blue collar newlywed and new father, doesn’t believe that a close friendship with his ex
will interfere with his marriage. As if, their marital issues weren’t challenging enough, their mother has
too much time on her hands and interferes with their marriages. Covering up a dark past of her own she
tries to prevent them from staying with their wives, so she can have her boys “all to herself”. After a
whirlwind of uncontrollable events arise between the brothers and their families, they’ll have to decide
which way they will turn when they're stuck between love and a hard place!

The Four Keys to Marriage
Written by Bishop Barry D. Walker “Four Keys to Marriage” is an
informative workbook for married and engaged couples teaching basic principles
of marriage, as well as the roles and responsibilities of husband and wife. The
book plays a “key” role in our film. Each married couple in the film owns a
copy of the book and a time comes in their relationship where they must
reevaluate their marriages, the book becomes part of that reevaluation,
helping them see their errors and reminding them of their roles.

BernNadette Stanis
BernNadette Stanis is best known as the quick witted, sexy savvy and the original “It” girl,
Thelma Evans, from the groundbreaking, first African American sitcom, “Good Times.” The
still sexy 70’s star needs no redefining. BernNadette remains the personification of the
‘gem’ that young girls want to emulate and that we’ve all come to know and love.
Undeniably, the onyx beauty is exquisitely graceful in the naturalist of forms. A classy
sophisticated and humble spirit is all embodied in this brilliant actress and author.
BernNadette’s place in television history has been secured not solely based on her
undeniable sex appeal and good looks, but instead based on her undeniable contributions
to redefining the role of the young black girl from ghettos across America in the minds of
the overwhelming masses prone to stereotypic beliefs. BernNadette through ‘Thelma’
proved to audiences everywhere that Black girls with the support of their strong families
have sky-is-the limit dreams and unshakeable faith and hope! Bern Nadette (Thelma)
showed that a ‘ghetto girl’ from Chicago’s inner city projects lived a life full of hopes and
dreams girded by intelligence, respect, dignity and grace, and for BernNadette Stanis these
characteristics weren’t learned in acting class. BernNadette is a wonderfully trained and
graceful dancer as was witnessed on many of the Good Times episodes. In everything that
BernNadette did it was marked with beauty, form and style extraordinaire. Without
question as long as there is a television, there will be a BernNadette Stanis across our TV
screens with her dramatic, comedic, witty one liners, daintiness, sexy but innocent, and
daddy’s little girl charm. Stanis is back with a vengeance in her quest to quell apparent
‘self-esteem issues and insecurities in our young generation. Astonished by the everyday
questions and persistent dogmatic relationship environment family, friends and women in general endure and sadly see as
‘the norm’ BernNadette was prompted to do more than have phone pow wow’s about possible resolutions. She was
determined to proactively seek a forum to reach out and stop the cycle of perpetually ‘justifying’ reasons to remain in
sufferable relationships. Her hope is to go beyond scraping the surface of why we tolerate what we do, but dig deeper and
breach the core of self-destructive behavior in relationships.
Today, she travels the world promoting her book, Situations 101: Relationships The Good, The Bad & The Ugly and her poetry
book, For Men Only. BernNadette Stanis is also a well sought after speaker. She is available as a keynote or motivational
speaker for your events.

“This film feels ordained by God. So many families everywhere need to see it, because it happens to families
all the time.” BernNadette Stanis

“This film highlights families and how they can overcome issues as well as learn to move past and overcome mistakes. It also helps
us see how we need to put things in perspective when it comes to family, that’s God first, then your family, followed by extended
family and friends. I really had a great time working on this film, and now I have a new family as a result of being part of this
project”. Canton Jones
