the development of each region, including NE BiH. There are
three public companies that provide telecommunications services
in this region, including fixed and mobile telephony, Internet
infrastructure and services. These are: BH Telecom Sarajevo,
m:tel and HT Eronet Mostar. In the field of mobile telephony part,
the Posavina part of the region region is covered by the two
operators from Croatia: HR "Cronet" and HR "VIP".

• The NE BiH is attractive for
business development on the
basis of available mineral and
other resources
NE BiH has huge reserves of primary energy resources, primarily solid
fossil fuels (stone coal and lignite). Besides coal, the area contains
significant deposits of rock salt (approximately 340 million tons),
asbestos (potential reserves of 109 million tons), kaolin, silica sand
(approximately 150 million tons), clay (estimated at 5.6 million m³),
limestone (approximately 250 million tons).
The area is also rich in metal ores. Large quantities of bauxite, with total
estimated reserves of 69.9 million tones, were discovered in Vlasenica
and Srebrenica. Wood reserves are estimated at 38 million m³,
representing 11.7% of total wood stock in Bosnia and Herzegovina.¹

Who invests in NE BiH ?
The most significant investors in NE BiH 1995-2010
The industry has enormous significance for the economic
development of NE. This particularly applies to metal industry.
Baseline studies of industrial sectors in NE BiH, characterized
metal processing sector as a sector with the greatest
potential for growth. Wood industry also has great
significance for the development of NE BiH, as well as the
whole Bosnia and Herzegovina, because its participation in
the physical extent of the economy is right after metal
industry. Wood industry is an important basis for development
of underdeveloped areas in the NE that contain high quality
forest areas, with substantial capacity for primary processing
of wood.

Besides these, significant investments in the NE were recorded by the following companies:
Ram Invest d.o.o. Ljubljana Slovenia; Seed Oil Holding GmbH Austria; Ljubljanske mlekarne d.d.
Ljubljana Slovenia; Alumil S.A. Greece; Dukat d.d. Croatia; Nova Ljubljanska banka d.d. Slovenia

Invest in North-East Bosnia and Herzegovina
•
Way of life
Bosnia and Herzegovina has always been a platform for interweaving of
a diversity of cultures, religions and traditions, which makes this small country
in the heart of Europe an extraordinarily interesting and unique.
Due to its geographic position Bosnia and Herzegovina has become a meeting
place for eastern and western civilizations and for various lifestyles, the country
of diversity and beauty.
The richness of spirit in Bosnian people is certainly one of the most remarkable
feauters of this region.
The North-East Bosnia and Herzegovina is a region often referred to as a „Little
Bosnia“ because this part of Bosnia is home to all three Bosnian nations who
populate the North – East BiH towns of both BiH entities and Brčko District.
The Region is characterized by gorgeous landscapes, intact nature and
significant tradition in a number of industries. Besides its business capacities,
the North-East BiH Region will also offer you with an ambient in which you will
enjoy the warmth of Bosnian people and the delicious taste of Bosnian cuisine.
In addition to the plentitude of pretty sites of nature, this Region's industrial
profile has also added to the nature of its population – easygoing,
hardworking, entrepreneurial people that are the main driving force of this
Region and anyone who comes here will have a friend, an assistant and
a business partner in them.

• Great potential in agriculture
and food processing sector
The fact is that BiH, especially the North-East region has a significant
potential for development of:
- crop production (the northern part of the NE region fertilearable land Posavina and Semberija)
- fruit production (central part of the region) and
- cattle (southern parts of the region).
In addition, BiH has traditionally very developed processing industry.

• The most attractive and must-see
tourist destinations
in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Tourist potentials of NE BiH are of two kinds.
They are about:
- attractive natural sites and resources, and
- rich cultural - historical heritage.
Special potential is in cultural – historical
values such as:
- archaeological sites in the wider area of the
region, "Palafitte settlement" Tuzla,
Gradovrh, an archaeological site
There are many naturally attractive goods and
"Brateljevici" in Kladanj, Illyrian ruins, etc.
sites in this region. In the narrow region (Tuzla
- necropolis and tombstones
Canton) 32 extremely valuable localities were
- religious and residential buildings of
officially recorded, natural resources attractive to
monumental character
tourists.
In this case, it is about: ambient value to tourists,
such as Protected Landscape "Konjuh", then a
number of hydrographic elements such as lakes:
Lake Modrac, Hazna and Vidar in Gradačac,
Pannonian Lake on the site Slana banja (unique,
salt water lake) in Tuzla, rivers and their catchments: Drinjača, Jadar Gostelja, Zlaća. There
also are known hunting areas, winter - tourist
areas (Kladanj) and the natural rarity of the cave
forms, etc.

It is important to point out that investitors will benefit
most from the skilled and cost competitive

Young people, often because of their international
experience and outward look to the world, have the
know-how, the drive, and the imagination to
develop dynamic businesses.
The quality and abundance of human cpital are

• Great potential in agriculture
and food processing sector
The fact is that BiH, especially the North-East region has a significant
potential for development of:

Slovenia
