Summary
This document lists the current (open) standalone pluviographs which make up the Department of
Natural Resources and Mines rainfall monitoring network.
Data collected at standalone pluviographs are published on the department’s Water Monitoring
Information Portal.
Rainfall data are also collected at stream gauging stations. Further site information is available on the
Water Monitoring Information Portal under each station listing.

Network background
The department’s standalone pluviographs are operated by trained hydrographic staff within a quality
management environment under International Organisation for Standardisation ISO 9001
accreditation.
Data collected from the standalone pluviographs are published on the department’s Water Monitoring
Information Portal, where near real time and historical data has been available to the public online
since January 2008.

Description of network list headings
Station | the standalone pluviograph unique identifier. The numbering system is based on Australian
Water Resource Council drainage basin numbering system.
Station name | the description of the standalone pluviograph location.
Office | the departmental office operating the standalone pluviograph:

Latitude (°S) and Longitude (°E) | the coordinates of the standalone pluviograph location. Details are
given in degrees to 4 decimal places, although accuracy to this level is not guaranteed.
Datum | the vertical elevation standards:
Geometric Datum of Australia 1994 (GDA94)
