The Israeli sculptor and now
Teaneck resident has created a
multi-dimensional, interactive
piece entitled, “Roots of Empathy” deriving from Ms. Horner’s
experiences working with individuals of varying challenges.
The sculpture makes use of discarded materials found in the
wetlands of the Teaneck Creek Conservancy.
A teaching artist affiliated with the Metropolitan Museum of
Art, Ms. Horner won the MMA a “Partner of the Year” award
for her work with FEGS - a rehabilitation facility for individuals
suffering with mental and developmental challenges.
The unveiling set for 3pm at the Puffin Cultural Forum at 20
Puffin Way (formerly Oakdene Ave here in Teaneck) will
include several of her colleagues from MMA, as well as the
premier of a recording that her husband, Tim Horner
composed for her entitled “Hand of the Sculptress”.
If accessible options are needed for this event please call the
Puffin Cultural Forum at 201-836-8923. Rain date TBD.
