José Luis Bruna i Brotons Presidente Federación Española de Pesca y Casting Dear athletes, captains and delegates: As President of the Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting I have the honor to greet and welcome young athletes, their captains and delegates and delegates of the Fips mer, who will come to Castellón, on the beaches of Grao from 8 to 15 October to celebrate the World Championship Shore Angling U16-U21. The city of Castellon and its dynamic council has been distinguished by its support for sport as generating activity values such as effort, self-discipline, respect and social capacity inclusive, which in sport fishing would add specific values such as respect for aquatic ecosystems and the natural environment, as well as its great social mainstreaming. That tradition of promoting sport, characterizes Castellón. For that reason, both the Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting as the Federation of Fishing of Valencia, are proud and satisfied to have achieved this World championshipo to be held in the wonderful beaches of Castellón Grao. Castellón and its coastline is a prime tourist attraction. During these days they can check its climate, its magnificent beaches, its historical monuments and its excellent and varied cuisine. You yourselves will check your welcome and hospitality, whenever the fishing world competition calls its doors. I would also like to publicly thank the Fips mer, its President Hubert Waldheim, my good friends Pierre Biever and Gilbert Zangerle genuine souls of the Fips mer, as well as my good collaborator José Ramón Aldanondo, who from the Vice Fips mer has helped to get this World Championship for Spain. Without forgetting the recognition and support that the Supreme Council for Sport has always provided to our sport. But I wouldn,t want to end these lines of salutation and welcome without expressing my satisfaction, my appreciation and sincere thanks to the Federation of Fishing of Valencia, for its dynamism, its good management and brilliant promotion of sport fishing, which makes one of the main pillars of the Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting (FEPYC). From here I want to thank your entire organization, all its efficient and enthusiastic employees, and particularly for this event, the Delegation of Castellón, in the person of Juan Antonio Barreda, and the President of the Autonomous Federation and great friend Mr. José Segura Barbacil. Castellón County Council Welcome everyone to the province of Castellon, a welcoming and diverse land with high mountains overlooking the sea. As maritime province is an honor for us to host the XXV World Championship Shore Angling U-16 and the XVI World Championship Shore Angling U-21. Fishing figures prominently in the history of the place and Valencian society, especially in the province of Castellon. An art and a job that has been the cornerstone of progress of many of our people and the future of our ancestors. Historically, Castellón County Council and the identity of our territory have gone hand in hand, because we are aware that our reason for being passed to help our peoples and thus defend the traditions. Therefore, this job, now a complex sports practice, could have no other response from the provincial institution that our sincere support and cooperation. Thanks to the organizers for thinking Castellón for this international event, and thanked the participants for making us enjoy this unique sport. Enjoy all of this only province DISCOVERING CASTELLÓN Castellon covers the territory to the north of Valencia, along which a coastline of 120 kilometers of beautiful beaches extending many of them with the Blue Flag awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe , beaches such as Peñiscola, Alcocebre, Oropesa, Benicassim, Castellon, Burriana and Almenara, give witness to this. Castellon has natural parks that still preserve untouched, such as the Natural Park of the Sierra de Irta in the coastal municipalities of Peñiscola, Alcala de Xivert and Alcossebre, and the Natural Park of El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca coastal areas. Notably another natural park in the Sierra de Espadán, water nourishes the longest navigable underground river in Europe the San José de la Vall d'Uixo, you can enjoy a pleasant boat trip. In addition to these natural areas, Castellón has the columbretes islands, formed by a series of volcanic islets, a short distance from the coast, offer unique spaces for its spectacular. Gurugú beach is known the existing stretch of coast between the Camino Castellon de la Plana to the mouth of Rio Seco. It is a long and wide beach, which has its back the promenade that flanks the road between Castellón and Benicàssim.
