Making Requests
• Please use the pre-printed form we send, or photocopy
the back page of this catalogue. (Travelling Displays are
booked by telephone. See below)
• Please return your request form by the deadline date we
provide each term. The choice is limited for late requests.
Delivery and Collection
• We deliver to, and collect from, the school office.
• Please have your loan consignment ready for collection
on the due date. Unfortunately, we cannot wait or return.
Care of exhibits
• Direct sunlight, water and careless handling are the main
cause of damage to loan exhibits and display materials.
• Handling of objects should be carried out under supervision. For fragile items, please create a soft handling area,
perhaps with folded cloth or some cushions.
Damage to exhibits
• Please do not attempt any repairs yourself.
• Let us know about any damage immediately so that we
can advise on any required action or special collection.
• Please try to recover and keep all the pieces!
Requesting Travelling Displays
Subscribers also have access to the Travelling Display
Service. The displays are large-scale installations intended
for a corner of a classroom or other suitable space in a
school.
These displays are booked by telephone, up to two terms
in advance, for 3 week loan periods. There is a nominal
‘delivery and set up’ charge. (call for current rate).

19th Century Schoolroom. Furniture,
workcards, inkwells, abacus, globe, slates, wallcharts, dip pens and more, in a realistic setting.
3m x 2m floorspace needed.
Amazon Indian Dwelling. The scene is a
corner of a rainforest hut, filled with objects made by
indigenous people. 2m x 2m floorspace needed.
Victorian Laundry.
A Victorian washday
‘comes to life’ through the utensils and products once
used. 2.5m x 1.5m floorspace needed.
Open Hearth Cooking. An inglenook
fireplace with the utensils needed to feed a family
and keep them warm. You can almost smell the
bread baking! 2.5m x 2m floorspace needed.

Air Raid! The Air Raid Warden’s home and garden
set the scene in this display, which looks at life during The
Blitz. Includes the siren! 3m x 2m floorspace needed.
The Emporium. This shop window is filled with
toys, games, pastimes and many other objects that would
have been familiar to Victorian children. Handling items
included. 2m x 1m floorspace needed.
Air Raid ! Morrison Shelter. A 2/3 real
size replica of the World War II indoor ‘Table shelter’.
This display shows the Air Raid Warden’s front room
and includes many genuine items from the time.
3m x 2m floorspace needed.
Working on the Land. This display brings you
a range of the implements once used during the farming
year. There are several good ‘mystery items’ to examine.
2m x 1.5m floorspace needed.
