STUDY CUM FIELD TRIP BY UiTM STUDENTS, ARAU,PERLIS
On 4th April 2011 a delegation comprising of 38 students majoring in Human Resources Management
and three lecturers from the Faculty of Business Management, UiTM, Arau, Perlis paid a visit to the
Industrial Court of Malaysia, Penang branch.
EXCELLENT SERVICE AWARDS CEREMONY 2010 OF MINISTRY OF HUMAN
RESOURCES
On 14th April 2011, the Excellent Service Awards Ceremony 2010 of the Ministry of Human Resources
was held at Auditorium Cempaka Sari, Perbadanan Putrajaya. A total of 12 officers and staff of the
Industrial Court of Malaysia received the Excellent Service Award presented by the Minister of Human
Resources, Y.B. Datuk Dr. S. Subramaniam. The recipients of the award were En. Cheng Eak Ping, Pn.
Azizah binti Sharif, Pn Maznah binti Abdul Hamid, Pn. Mashitah binti Haroon, Pn. Sarbunisa binti

INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS CONFERENCE ORGANISED BY THE MALAYSIAN
EMPLOYERS FEDERATION FROM 21 TO 22 APRIL AT BAYVIEW HOTEL, PULAU
LANGKAWI, KEDAH
Y.A. Puan Susila Sithamparam delivered the keynote address entitled “The Role of the Industrial Court
In Maintaining Industrial Harmony” at the Industrial Relations Conference organised by the Malaysian
Employers Federation from 21 to 22 April 2011 at Bayview Hotel, Pulau Langkawi, Kedah.
Y.A. Dato' Jalaldin bin Haji Hussain presented a paper on “Managing Cyber Misconduct” and Y.A.
Tuan Franklin Goonting presented a paper on “Conflict of Interest” at the said conference as well.
FAMILY DAY 2011
On 30th April 2011, the Welfare and Sports Association of the Industrial Court of Kuala Lumpur
organized the Family Day 2011 at the Desa Water Park, Kuala Lumpur. The event was launched by
President of Industrial Court, Y.A. Puan Susila Sithamparam.

“THE 60TH EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM” FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICERS
OF MALAYSIA
Ms. Woo Sook Han, Assistant Registrar of the Industrial Court of Malaysia, Johore branch attended the
“The 60th Executive Development Program” for government officers of Malaysia which was held at the
Central Officials Training Institute (COTI), Republic of Korea from 10 to 21 May 2011. The program
which was organized by the Department of Public Services was also attended by 20 government
officers from various Ministries in Malaysia.
FAREWELL DINNER FOR Y.A. DATO' HAJI SULAIMAN BIN ISMAIL
A farewell dinner was organized by the Industrial Court, Penang Branch at the Bayview Georgetown
Hotel on 13th May 2011 for Y.A. Dato' Haji Sulaiman bin Ismail, Chairman of Court 9, who retired
officially on 17th May 2011. Among the guests who attended the function were High Court Judges,
Judicial Commissioners, lawyers, the Chairman of the Penang Bar Committee, the Director of the
Labour Department, Unionists, Officers from the Penang SOCSO office and family members of Y.A.
Dato' Haji Sulaiman bin Ismail.

ASSOCIATION OF THE INDUSTRIAL COURT, KUALA LUMPUR BRANCH
SPORTS
On 27th May 2011, the 8th Annual General Meeting of the Welfare and Sports Association of the
Industrial Court, Kuala Lumpur Branch was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Industrial Court ,
Kuala Lumpur. The meeting was officiated by Y.A. Dato' Jalaldin bin Haji Hussain who represented the
President who was unable to attend because of official duties.
EMPLOYMENT AND INDUSTRIAL LAW SEMINAR
Y A Puan Susila Sithamparam gave the opening address at the Employment and Industrial Law
Seminar organised by Lexis Nexis and launched the Industrial Law Journal on 31 May 2011 at the
Crown Plaza Mutiara Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
7th ANNUAL EMPLOYMENT LAW CONFERENCE
Y A Puan Susila Sithamparam presented a paper entitled "Early Evaluation and Mediation at the
Industrial Court" at the Seventh Annual Employment Law Conference organised by MySeminars Sdn
Bhd on 11 May 2011 at the Doubletree at the Hilton, Kuala Lumpur.

On 9th June 2011 a farewell lunch in conjunction the retirement and transfer of officers and staff was
held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Industrial Court, Kuala Lumpur. The officers and staff who had

Chee were conferred with awards by the DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong, Sultan
Mizan Zainal Abidin in conjunction with His Majesty Birthday held at Istana Negara
Y.A. Puan Susila Sithamparam was conferred with the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) while Y.A. Tuan
Franklin Goonting was conferred with the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) and Cik Lim Tok Chee was
conferred with the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN).
