HIRING INFO
Equipment
CIEE will be providing all necessary equipment for the virtual hiring
event. In each of the interview stations, there will be the following:
Laptop computer
LCD monitor
Keyboard
Mouse
Webcam
Headset
Presentation
All students will view the CIEE Virtual Job Fair Presentation at their
Overseas Representative (OR) office prior to the interviews. If you have
a pre-recorded presentation OR will play this for the students after the
CIEE Presentation.
Interviewing
To ensure the interview sessions run in a timely fashion, we have allotted
10 minutes per interview. Please be conscious of time during the
interviews. CIEE staff will be available to assist you in staying on schedule.
As with many two-way audio and video software applications, from time
to time connections will be lost. CIEE staff will be readily available to
assist with troubleshooting any issues that may arise, and we appreciate
your understanding and patience while we fix them.
Hiring
CIEE will be providing you with student profiles and a roster of all the
students represented from the specific country you are hiring from for
that day. Each student profile will have a form on the top right-hand
corner. You will need to fill out job information on the student profile
(Employer; Job Title; Start Date; End Date) after each successful
interview. The CIEE staff member responsible for data will come around
periodically to collect the student profiles in order to hire the students in
our database. It is important that the forms are completed immediately
following a successful interview, as we will need to scan the data into our
system within 30 minutes of a student being hired. This is to ensure that
we are able to provide you with student-signed copies of the Job Offer
Form as quickly as possible following the event.
At the end of your hiring day, you will be provided with your student
profiles. You will also need to sign off on a Hiring Tally Sheet.

local information
Portland is an old seacoast town. But it’s also a funky city filled with
galleries, boutiques, shops, and incredible restaurants serving everything
from New England clam chowder, lobster rolls, and Maine seafood to
nouvelle cuisine. As one of the few working waterfronts left in the United
States, Portland serves as New England’s largest tonnage seaport and
second-largest fishing port.
Visitors come by car, train, airplane, and boat. Each year our port alone
handles over 206,000 international passengers, including 41,000 cruise
ship passengers.
Portland’s Old Port is one of the most successful revitalized warehouse
districts in the country. Seamlessly connected to the harbor area,
the Old Port is a working waterfront and a chic shopping, dining, and
entertainment district.
SIGHTSEEING
Two Lights State Park- Houses two lighthouses on Maine’s rugged
coastline.
Exchange Street- Located in the heart of the Old Port. Boutiques line
this quaint street that carry everything from local Maine goods to top
name brands.
Fore Street- At the bottom of Exchange Street, offering a wide variety of
shops and boutiques as well.
Boat Tours- There are a number of afternoon and evening boat tours
available from the pier.
Brewery Tours- There are a number of small breweries in the area
that offer tours. Here are two suggestions; Allagash Brewery and
Shipyard Brewery.
