METAL MECHANICS AND
PLASTICS
In the Mechanics
Engineering Department,
we use the latest
computer technology, with
specialized 3D software for
the resistance calculation
of mechanic elements.
We develop cooperation
with technological
institutions such as
AIMME (Metal Mechanics
Technological Institute)
and AIMPLAS (Association
for Research on Plastic
Materials).
For the manufacturing
of buoys, towers and all
kind of structures related
to the aids to navigation
field, we count on different
workshops of foundry,
machining and profiling,
in both marine and
stainless steel, aluminum
and any other metallic
material resistant to marine
environment.
We also count on
appropriate factories for
shaping and injection of
high-performance technical
plastics for Optics and
Engineering, composite
injection processes and
different treatments of
rotomoulded polyethylene
or elastomer polyurethane,
as well as glass reinforced
polyester (GRP).
OPTICS
The Optics Department,
by using the vanguard
technology available in
manufacturing and testing
systems for optics as well
as for lamps, has kept our
products in a level of clear
competition with the rest of
manufacturers.
In order to get adapted to
these new technologies in
the field of Optics, we have
found in AIDO (Industrial
Association of Optics), an
essential support since it
was founded.
Continuous innovation
and an effective Research
and Development (R&D)
have made possible
that, from the use of
glass optics to modern
optics made through
plastic injection process
compatible with new LED
technology, our products
have always complied with
the requirements of our
clients, besides all IALA
Recommendations.
In our Photometric
laboratory, all the
necessary tests are
performed to guarantee
the perfect operation of the
equipments and to achieve
the maximum light output.
Our interest in
improving the aidsto-navigation systems
has led us to involve
in different European
projects, outlining the
DESMEMLUCSS, financed
by the European Union,
that has allowed to
establish a standardized
measurement method of
luminous characterization
of sea signals. This method
has been considered
as the basis for a future
worldwide Standard
accepted by IALA, CIE and
CEN.
ELECTRONICS
In our Electronics
Department, we constantly
endeavor to apply the
latest technical advances
in our equipments, such
as the incorporation
of low-consumption
technology systems with
microcontrollers and with
Light Emitting Diodes
technology.
All the specifications of
the electronic equipment
have got a high level of
reliability and heavy-duty
serviceability, in order to
guarantee a safe operation
under the worst weather
conditions. To ensure the
right operation, different
control systems are used in
our equipments, including
double control circuitry and
a high grade of protection
in inputs and outputs.
All equipments
manufactured at present
are ready to be connected
to any remote control
system that allows a
remote supervision of
the equipment status
in real time. Our own
Remote Monitoring &
Control System can be
easily adapted to any
requirement from the client.
We also introduce in
our equipment the most
advanced AIS technology.
For the design,
programming and
subsequent fabrication
of electronic equipments,
we use the state-of-theart computer technology,
by cooperating with
the Institute for Electric
Technology (ITE) of the
Polytechnics University in

instructors to train

our factory prior to the
eventual installation and

stations. If necessary,
maintenance and operation
service can be undertaken
by La Maquinista

BSL120 • SELF CONTAINED SOLAR LED LANTERN
The BSL120 is a flashing marine LED beacon, selfcontained, strong and lightweight, self-powered,
especially designed to obtain high luminous
efficiency with low cost and minimum maintenance.
Ideal up to 3.5 n.m. nominal range installations.
The solar modules distribution makes it suitable for
floating installations.
The lantern uses a 120 mm diameter fresnel lens
and high optical quality internal condenser.
Lantern base is made from high quality moulded
composite plastic, giving an exceptional lantern
durability and resistance.

The BPK120-HI marine lantern is a rugged and
lightweight, self-contained flashing beacon,
especially designed for high luminous efficiency,
low cost and very low maintenance.
Ideal for installations up to 8 n.m., especially
for buoy beaconing due to the solar modules
distribution. Vertical prism lens cover of 120 mm
diameter, with internal high-quality precision
moulded condenser lens units.
Lantern base is made from high-quality moulded
composite plastic, giving an exceptional compact
lantern durability and resistance.
This gives low installation and maintenance
costs, and an extraordinary long service life in
severe marine operating environments.

The BDA305-HI is a high-output rugged and
lightweight marine flashing beacon, especially
designed for AC mains supply.
It uses an excellent luminous-output moulded
Fresnel lens of 300 mm diameter and composite
plastic base, thus obtaining exceptional lantern

BGA850 • MAJOR ROTATING BEACON
The BGA850 is a rotating light for major
lighthouse systems, achieving ranges of up to
28 n.m. with 2,900,000 Cd of effective intensity.
The optical equipment uses acrylic moulded
lenses of high accuracy and optical efficiency of
360 mm focal distance and 720 mm height. Low
energy consumption allows operation from a low
voltage DC photovoltaic solar system.
The installation is very simple and safe, by using
the MGE150, electronic gearless double motor
pedestal.

The LEN360-XL high-definition sectorised
leading light, has been especially developed
to be used in port accessing leading

a high-definition sectorised unidirectional

LEN500 • LEADING LIGHT
Our leading light type LEN500 has been specially
developed for use in marking port approach
channels where high intensity light is required. The
light comprises a unidirectional beam of relatively
narrow horizontal divergence which allows vessels
to be guided with precision along a straight route in
the approach channel to the port.
The single beam is optically configured to precise
standard horizontal angles. When used in both the
Front and Rear Leading Light positions and placed
on structures suitably spaced apart, a navigator by
approaching and keeping both lights vertically inline, will be able to navigate with complete safety to
the port entrance.
Each light consists of a high efficiency moulded
acrylic lens of 360 mm diameter, an automatic
lamp-changer type CLB or CLC and a solid state
flasher.

LEN1000 • HIGH-DEFINITION SECTORISED LEADING LIGHT
The LEN1000 high definition sectorised leading light and great , has been especially developed
to be used in port accessing leading channels and similar for day and night opertation. The light
generates a high definition sectorised unidirectional beam of light which an horizontal divergence
of 3.5º using maritime signalisation lamps. It can be used in leading channels to give a complete
signal from a single station.
The lantern beam of light is divided into colour sectors according to IALA Recommendations. The
great accuracy in every sector definition < 0.05º, allows users exactly determine its location in

LER500 • COMPACT REFLECTOR BEACON
LER500 is a reflector light beacon of high quality and high
luminous performance. It is compact, lightweight and suitable
to work with AC or DC power supplies.
As it reaches big nominal ranges, it can be used as directional
light in beaconing by night and by day. Its luminous system
is composed of high luminous performance sealed beam
halogen lamps.

LER1000 • HIGH-INTENSITY MARINE LANTERN
Port traffic control lights LER1000, are unidirectional
marine lanterns of high intensity that are used
usually to set up lights of port traffic control,
used for both day and night beaconing. They use
aluminium PVD (physical vapor deposition type
reflectors, of high luminous performance.
An hermetic diaphanous folding door on its frontal
part is available, this permits the access to the
inside of the lantern easy. Placed in one of the
lantern sides there is a small panel that houses the
electronic control circuitry of the lantern.
It is made of stainless steel, reinforced polyester
and glass, making the lantern very resistant to
marine environment.

CLB12 / CLB12plus • AUTOMATIC LAMPCHANGERS
The CLB12 lampchangers emphasize simplicity and
reliability. They are designed to operate with any
solid-state flasher which can provide both filament
failure sensing, and, voltage pulses to activate the
rotary solenoid.
The rotary solenoid indexes the lamp turret by a
spring wound ratchet mechanism. The lamp turret
will support six S-8 or S-11 marine signal lamps and
halogen lamps with prefocus caps, and will locate
the filament accurately within operating position
horizontally and vertically, with a deviation less
than 0.8 mm from the theoretical centre. It can be
mounted in any position.

SERIES BPRB • ROTOMOULDED POLYETHYLENE BUOYS
The BPRB series buoys are used in a variety of
river and marine locations, forming a platform
exceptionally stable and lightweight.
All materials employed are highly resistant to marine
environmental conditions.
The metallic parts are manufactured in hot-dip
galvanized steel. The hardware is stainlesssteel and the material used in the float and the

The lanternhouse comprises a base ring, a transparent cylinder, a cupola and a ventilation dome.
Base ring includes ventilation hatches.
Spiral (non vertical) cylindrical astrigal frame to avoid any dark areas and provide greater toughness.
Curved (cylindrical), heat tempered, high-homogeneity glass panes of 4-6 mm thickness are used
to minimise losses due to refraction and reduce back reflection (these types of losses are normally
associated with the use of flat and inclined glazings).
Watertight seal made from synthetic putty of special composition.
Standard semi-spherical opaque-type cupola (dome), with supports for ladder and access to the

The SPC66 / SPC88 are solar charge
controllers which contain the most recent
and innovative technology, ideal for small and
medium size solar power systems and very
suitable for marine aids to navigation. In them,
the battery charge is through PWM shunt
regulator and the overdischarge is controlled
with a MOSFET transistor.
Temperature compensation by means of an
internal sensor is integrated in these controllers.

The AIS-BEACON is a broadcast

Technical specifications
LMV AIS-BEACON is designed and manufactured at a reduced
cost of current AIS hardware prices, as a simplex transmit only
device.
The controller does not require any RAM or peripheral chip
addition as no VDL profile data tables, VDM conversions etc are
required therefore the complexity of the controller is minimized.

Luminous range
The luminous range of a light is the
maximum distance at which the light can
be seen by an observer. It is determined by
the luminous intensity of the light and by the
atmospheric transmissivity.
Nominal range
The nominal range of a light is its luminous
range under atmosphere conditions
of T = 0.74, equivalent to a meteorological
visibility of 10 n.m.

indicates the light transmission per nautical
mile through the atmosphere, and is a
factor characterising the transparency of
the atmosphere.
This factor is closely related to the
meteorological visibility as shown in the

Geographical range
The geographical range of a seamark (light or object) is the maxi¬mum distance at which
it can be seen by an observer over the sea horizon. It depends on the elevation above the
water level of the seamark and the height of the observer’s eye.
