The Pipetting Standard
Pipetman P is a fully adjustable, air-displacement pipette
with the selected volume shown on a digital indicator
(volumeter). Designed and manufactured to provide you
with a range of robust, accurate and precise pipettes, eight

We performed an evaluation of different filter
tip brands over a complete aerosol size range
of 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 1μm and found that
these particles behave as the theory of filtration
would predict. By further comparison of the
results, we also concluded that although these
filter tips are considered of the highest quality
available on the market, they behave in a
different manner. For example, for 1 μm
particle, filter B has an efficiency of 81% as
opposed to 98% for Gilson Diamond tip.

To measure electrical signals and intracellular calcium concentrations of neuronal cells at the same time, Mr. Kwang-Hyun
Cho, PhD, a postdoctoral researcher from the College of Medicine at the Catholic University of Korea, uses a microscope
focusing on a perfusion chamber drained by a Minipuls 3. The
neuronal cells come from a rat brain slice bathed in a buffer

the molecular biology team seeks to identify Pseudomonas (Pseudomonas putida) genes and traits
involved in efficient competitive root colonisation in order to understand how bacteria survive,
proliferate, and compete in the rhizosphere after
bacterisation of seeds. The Minipuls evolution is
used to study bacterial biofilms in flowcell chambers.
Bacteria grow in flowcell chambers fed by an oxygenated solution and media. The Minipuls evolution is used to
