Dear Parents/ Caregivers
Kia Ora, Malo e Lelei, Talofa, Greetings
SENIOR STUDENTS FAREWELLED
Thank you to all parents and friends of the College who attended our senior academic prizegiving last
Thursday evening. It was a wonderful occasion to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements
of our students. We also farewelled our Year 13 students who have been an excellent cohort and
contributed much to the school over seven years. We wish them well on the next stage of their life journey.
NCEA EXAMS UNDERWAY!
The next few weeks will be critical for senior students as they sit external NCEA exams. Please be positive
and encouraging of them, ensuring they get sufficient sleep, eat well, check their exam timetable and study
timetable.
JUNIOR EXAMS ALSO UNDERWAY - TIME FOR REFLECTION
Your children have commenced their exams today. Once marked, the teachers will be giving students
feedback. It is important that you are also part of this process. Please show an interest in their results,
celebrate what they did well and discuss areas where they need to improve.
ACTIVITY DAYS & YEAR 8 CAMPS
Teachers are busy organising beach days, activity weeks and camps to ensure your children enjoy the end
of the year. Teachers have committed a huge amount of their time in organisation and in delivering these
activities.
It is important to recognise that in many other schools, teachers are not prepared to undertake this work. I
am grateful that we have such dedicated staff who are prepared to go the extra mile.
SCHOOL LEAVERS
If your son or daughter intends to leave JPC at the end of the year, the school needs to know as soon as
possible. We have waiting lists.
God bless
Patrick Walsh - Principal
Senior students are reminded to return their text books and any outstanding library
books as they complete that subject’s NCEA external examination.
Collection boxes are available in the exam room.
WORKCHOICE DAY
Thank you to all the families who have shown their support for our hardworking PTA by supporting
Workchoice Day this Friday 13 November 2015.
When your child has earned their money can you please send it to school in a named envelope and hand
it in to student reception as soon as possible?
If your child is going to be at school on Friday they are to wear full school uniform and meet at the library
at 8.35 a.m.
Any questions regarding Workchoice Day please email Maree Stewart; [email protected]
Congratulations to Renee Dudson (Year 8) who has been selected for Junior Development Squash
