Our outfitter in Uruguay is Hector Sarasola, owner and outfitter of Estancia Ninette.
Hector has over 20 years experience in guiding International sportsmen and is regarded
as one of the top Britney spaniel and dog trainers in all of Uruguay. His lodge was custom
built along the banks of the Rio Negro River in western Uruguay and has all of the
comforts one can expect in a first class hunting lodge. Hector runs mainly upland hunts
but also has a unique combination hunt in Salto where he offer a duck, Dove, Perdiz and
Golden Dorado fishing as well. Hector is regarded as one of the best in Uruguay and after
a few minutes behind his Brittney's you will see why. Hectors staff includes his son
Gonzalo and his nephew Javier who handles all of the transfers, permits and just about
anything else you would want while traveling in and out of Montevideo.
The Perdiz HUNTING
Uruguay without a doubt offers the best Perdiz hunting in
world. From the moment you first see the dogs and watch them
go to work you instantly see why Hector and his Estancia
Ninette are considered the best in Uruguay. Hector has mixed
kennel of dogs but his favorites are the Brittanie's. The area
around his lodge is teaming with perdiz and as they are usually
found in singles and pairs, this makes for an exciting morning
full of upland hunting. The perdiz can hide on a pool table so
even with the dogs pointing you will be surprised at how they
seem to get up from under your feet. Perdiz are a browning
color as we are hunting during their winter months they blend in
perfectly but are one of the most exciting birds you will ever
shoot. On a normal hunt you can fill out your daily bag in time
for a early lunch before heading out for the afternoons dove
roost shoot.
The
Dove Hunting
The dove hunting in Uruguay is nothing less than
spectacular. Hunters can easily shoot over a 1000
shells a day and even 2000 shells a day is not that
difficult. Actually it will all depending on your
shoulder and wallet as they have literally millions
of birds. The best part about Estancia Ninette is
that most drive are less than 30 minutes and you
will be shooting within sight of the lodge the
majority of the time as they have a roost five
minutes outside of the front gate. The dove hunting
is at it’s best during the spring and summer months
from October through March but you can still shoot
100o a day for the “slower” winter months.

The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival into Montevideo, after clearing
customs you will be met and transferred 3
hours to Estancia Ninette. This afternoon we
will shoot doves. If we running close on time
we stop along the way and shoot before
heading to the lodge
Days 2-4: These are three full days of dove
hunting. You hunt doves in the mornings,
return to the lodge for lunch and a siesta and
then a shoot a dove roost in the afternoons.
Day 5: This is your last morning shooting
doves, after lunch you will return to
Montevideo for your flight back to the States

Uruguay Hunting Seasons.
Combo Dove and Perdiz season: May 1st through July 31st
Dove Only: Season runs year round with the best shooting from October through
March.
• As Estancia Ninette is located on the Rio Negro, Golden Dorado
fishing is available at no charge throughout your stay at the lodge.
Hector has a few spinning and fly fishing outfits if anyone is
interested.
