RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE COLLECTION
RECYCLING
BE BEAR AWARE
The City of Prince George will NOT collect any
carts that are overflowing with garbage. Please
make sure all garbage is contained inside your
cart, and the lid is completely closed.
For information about the curbside recycling
schedule, what items can be recycled, and

TRANSFER STATIONS AND
LANDFILL HOURS
The Central Interior is home to a large
population of bears. Each year many bears are
attracted into the City limits in search of food
and as a result may have to be destroyed by
Conservation Officers after they have become
“problem” bears. There are a number of simple
steps we can all take to make a difference and
save a bear’s life:
Wheels against the curb,
or just off the roadway.
Point It
Arrows should point
away from curb.
Space It
Give at least 2m
of clearance on all
sides, even from
recycling bins.

ecure your garbage in a bear resistant
location such as your garbage or shed.
• P lace your garbage at the curb on the day of
collection after 4:00am and before 8:00am.
• Clean your garbage cart to reduce odors.
• T ake your bird feeder down from
April to November.
• K eep your BBQ clean and stored
indoors if possible.

2) Find the location of your residence on the
map and note the colour of that area.
3) Refer to the calendar on the other side of
this sheet for your garbage collection days
schedule.
4) Semi-Automated collection will be
collected on Wednesday.
Note: Where the boundary is between two
adjacent colours that follows a street, the
boundary is along the centre of that street.
