H-Design is targeted at applications where volumes are bigger. We believe H-Design is very
special. Very few companies can combine the benefits of in house research, design and
prototyping with the economies of overseas production.
We also offer a design and development service for customers who require something
special either under our brand or their own, and this product can then be produced in the UK
or Asia depending on the volume, product type and price point. Volume runs as small as
twenty or many thousands can be produced.
To go with your rods we can supply components, cork, EVA, rings and fittings.
We also distribute terminal tackle from Owner and Hiro.
Small and friendly, we like to develop long relationships with other small and medium size
companies committed to good service. We take the long term view, and we want all our
dealers and customers to get the right product and come back for more.
We endeavour to hold stock on our most popular products so that we can dispatch many
items for next day delivery. But as we make much of our product here in Liverpool, out of
stock only means a short wait.
Carp Rods
New Torrix: Our best sellers are still hard to beat, but now we have Torrix.
Ballista pioneered slimness in Carp rods and was probably the first Carp rod to successfully use 40Ton carbon.
Chimera introduced the use of two woven carbons in conjunction with 40 ton high modulus carbon. To these we
have added Torrix.
Ballista remains one of the best choices for all carp fishing and they are available in a huge range of test curve

Ballista Classic: The rod that launched a thousand copies. Like the Porsche 911, conceived some time ago, but with little
year on year improvements, still very hard to keep up with. The range is characterised as being easy to cast with, timing and
style is not critical, but choose the right rod and distance is easily achieved. Kurt Grabmyer won the World Carp cup in 2003
using 13 footers with multiplyer reels for ultimate distance! But not all Ballistas are about distance.The range starts with 2
1/2lb rods for big fish in small waters.
Standard rods come in a no nonsense natural tough carbon finish. They are fitted with genuine Fuji NPS reel fittings and
Hopkins and Holloway Hardlon ring sets. 40mm on the 2 3/4lb plus rods. Tyings are black. Prices are keen. Performance is
awesome. These rods will tame the biggest fish and cope with those last lunges at the net. There is no lock up. If you want a

Ballista II. Keeping the best of the old and adding something new. In developing Ballista Classic we learnt that great carp rods are about
a lot more than the tensile modulus of the carbon. In Ballista we pioneered the introduction of HR40 to rods in the UK, but we also
added something else. At any time a rod under load has some parts under tension but others under compression. We developed a
philosophy, we call it CTB for compression tension balance. We use a range of carbon fibres with different characteristics to optimize
the rod blank not just for tensile modulus but for compression performance as well. This pays dividends when you are playing out a fish.
The compression characterisics of the underside of the bending rod are as important as the tensile properties of the topside. The way in
which we combine the fibres is a bit like the way traditional craftsmen have used multi modulus natural materials like Yew and Tonkin
for long bows and split cane rods.

Carp Rods
Most modern carp rods focus on distance, and we have distance rods too, but fishing is about pleasure and not
all carp fishing is done at 120yds plus on big lakes. In fact, in the UK you are quite likely to be fishing smaller
venues for big fish and you get more fun using a rod built for close to medium range fishing. We are not
suggesting a through action 11 footer like the old cane classics, but there is case for a modern interpretation.

CHIMERA: We have talked about fishing pleasure at close and medium range in our Ballista and
Multicarp rods. Chimera is a range that starts at medium range and goes on and on. Chimera started
with the Chimera 12 3 1/2lb, which is a bench mark for fishing big leads at big distance. The blank
pioneered the combination of UD carbon and two weaves concept which is where the name
(pronounced Kimera) comes from. The Chimera was a mythical beast combining lion, goat and
serpent. The UD carbon is our serpent and the lion and the goat the 3k and 1k plain carbon weaves
we use in the butt and tips respectively. This construction gives us power, strength, torsion control
and drop dead looks. The 3 1/2lb is only for very accomplished catsers, but we now have an
awesome 3 1/4lb which is less critical of timing and will produce the distance for the regular angler.

Carp Rods
New Torrix
Torrix, the challenge was to improve on what we had. It was a hard struggle. No significant new
carbons or resins have come on to the market in the last ten years. It was a case of subtly tweaking
tapers, resin content, fibre angle and fibre mix to try and gain a significant step forward. And at last
we did it. Torrix is formed from super flat, super wide, lightweight prepregs to allow new lay ups.
Torrix is slimmer, but has the strength and torsion control of bigger diameter rods. Tip mass is down,
and all of this is immediately evident in the feel when you pick the rod up and swing your first lead.
Torrix is sheathed on the butt section in 1k plain-woven fabric, and is plain UD on the tips. The weave
helps hoop strength in the butt, but it is not continued into the tip as the advanced tip lay up does not
require strengthening.
Torrix is available in rods and blanks. Rods come as standard wth Fuji Sic.

The thinking has been to go for performance first, but like the Chimera, this is a very good looking rod. The first
thing you will notice is the balance, when swinging a lead, it feels more in contact. The low tip mass and slim
diameter means more casting energy goes into the lead, and less into accelerating the blank.

casting, with the 3 1/4lb a distance rod with an action anyone can cast distance with. In terms of
angling heritage, these rods have Ballista style no lock-up, fish playing action with the strength for
modern leads and bait loads.
Added to this, the rods are probably amongst the best looking on the market. The smooth plain weave carbon
blank is gloss coated and beautifully rolled with a medium to slim diameter. 1k Carbon Fabric is used on the 2 ¾
and 3lb with 3k used on the 3 1/4lb rod. The fittings are the best quality. Genuine stainless collars either side of
a Fuji 20DNPs reel seat. The new Tizic rings have strong stainless frames with a Titanium Vapour Deposition
Finish which is both as tough as you can get and looks great with a subtle bluish sheen, and the slim highly
polished Zirconium centres with flanged tip rings make these rods ideal with mono or braid. A shrink rubber butt
grip for slime elegance finishes the handle. Discrete metallic silver tipping at the joint and handle finish the
whole job off.

Gti Match Rods:
The Gti range is well known as a great range of rods at
the more powerful end of match rods. They are ideal for
putting together big bags of fish on the Severn, or for
specialist angling for fish that rarely reach double
figures. The tips are either hollow or solid spliced. The
latter allows lighter floats to be flicked and gives extra
cushion when striking on hook lengths under 1 1/2lb.
There are many accounts of big carp being caught by
accident on these rods, and they have the power when
you need it. They come as standard in a natural carbon
finish with full cork handle and John Roberts sliding reel
fittings. This simple set up provides a secure reel seat
with the ability to attach the reel in any position. A screw

Life Jackets
Especially commissioned by Harrisons from a
leading sea safety product manufacturer. Designed
from start to finish for the Angler with safety and
comfort in mind
It features:
A camouflage tough outer cover, leather scrim front
inner lining for durability and to reduce accidental
hook damage to the bladder. It has a soft neoprene
neck lining for all day comfort. The harness is
simple and easy to fit with a warm to the touch no
fiddle Monster acetal nylon fastening clip.
Full 150 Newton interlocking buoyancy chamber.
When properly fitted and inflated is capable of
turning an unconscious person face up with the
mouth clear of the water.
Inner bladder is a highly visible yellow.
It sits high on the body and is small when packed.
It is ideal for comfort when wading or sitting in a
boat. A velcro patch to attach accessories such as
a fly box completes the jacket.
There are two models, manual (hand pull) or
automatic available. We recommend the automatic
for most applications. This activates on contact with
water but which can also be set off manually.
