For Sale
We just want to say "THANKS" to
everyone that came out and
supported our annual
Steakout. Everyone had a great
time even though we thought
winter was coming early. We
had a GREAT bean supper on
Friday night and then on
Saturday everyone enjoyed a
fantastic steak with baked
potato, salad, baked beans and
the best homemade desserts on
this side of the Mississippi.
Besides great food, we also had
great fellowship with fellow
goldwingers. We had chapters
looking and searching for WOOD
at the Roan and some were
successful and others went
home empty handed. The most
popular place during Steakout
was next to the potato cookereveryone was trying to capture
some of the heat that was
escaping from the cooker.
Chapter "C" did a fantastic job as
usual. There is no way that this
event could be successful, if not
for all of Chapter C's hard work.

2014 TN-C Couple of the Year

The month
of May has
been a
whirlwind!
We began
the first
week of the
month
traveling to
Chapter L
(Lebanon)
in an attempt to the capture the COY Plaque;
however, Chapter N (Jackson) drew the winning
ticket number. With fate in our corner, Chapter N’s
monthly meeting was that same evening, so we
said our goodbyes and headed to Jackson. We had
dinner and good fellowship with Chapter N, but
failed to have the winning ticket number; Chapter
M (Lenoir City) captured the plaque. The second
week of the month, we headed to Lenoir City to
once again try and capture the COY Plaque. As the
ole saying goes, “Third time’s a charm!” Our
persistence paid off, as we proudly carried the COY
plaque to Chapter C, with only three days until our
‘Steakout’ in Roan Mountain.
Our ‘Steakout’ was great! The weather was cold
and damp for a while, but the camaraderie
between Goldwing friends was warm and
welcoming. Although we could not be there for the
bean supper on Friday evening (our granddaughter
graduated in Knoxville), we thoroughly enjoyed the
activities and steak dinner on Saturday. Roan
Mountain State Park is such a beautiful place and
Chapter C is very fortunate to be able to share its
beauty with our Goldwing “family”. Hope many of
you got to ride through the mountains with
Lawrence Roberts. He has lived in Roan Mountain
“forever” and is truly a book of knowledge and
loads of fun! If you haven’t made the Saturday
morning ‘Steakout’ ride with him, pencil it in for
next year!

HELLO EVERYONE
Well here it is with a year almost half gone, time
sure does fly. I’ve always heard that saying and it
sure is true. We had another great bean supper and
steak out. Got to meet a lot of new people and
make new friends and they all seem to have a good
time in the mountains. Hope they enjoyed it
enough to return next year when we have the 32nd
year of putting it on.
We’ve got a whole lot of good rides lined up for
the rest of the year so if you have nothing planned
come on out an join in the fun. We have a Thursday
night ride leaving at 6:00 pm at Meadowview
parking lot and a Saturday ride leaving the same
place at 10:30 am sometimes we even get back
before dark. They have always been good rides so
bring a friend and come and ride with us.
Be sure to check your membership cards and
be aware of the expiration date and don’t let it run
out you may loose out on something at the
gatherings which is the third Tuesday of the month
at Mama’s House on John B. Highway at 7;00 come
early and eat.

MEMORIAL RIDE
Each year we visit the grave sites of our departed Members. We left Cracker Barrel in Boones Creek at 8:30
am on Monday May 26. We honored the deceased by placing a flag on the grave and remembering the good times.
