the May Queen Ball was held on April 30,
2011, on the verdant lawns of Rustom Baug’s Sir

evening, packing the arena to full capacity.
An integral part of the programme is the Beauty
Pageant, and this year had 23 lovely ladies from
Mumbai, Dubai, Goa, Vapi, Navsari and Surat put
their best foot forward in a bid to win the coveted

R20,000, and R10,000 was given to the
winners of the six sub titles. All the awards
were funded by the Kathawallas.
The pageant began with the 23 young
ladies stepping onto the stage for the first

decided. The judges for the evening were
photographer Jatin Kampani, Fashion
Designer Narendra Kumar, Mr. India

Whilst the marks were being totalled for
the 12 finalists, graceful Parsi models
sashayed down the ramp displaying the

Bridal Collection. The make-up was
expertly done by Mahtab Jamasji, Kshipra
Goiporia and their team. Choreographed
by Hufriya and Kerzin Madon, the fashion
show was followed by a dance sequence.
In the second round, the 12 finalists
were each asked to draw a piece of paper
with the name of a judge on it. The judge
whose name they drew would then quiz
the contestant.
The whole show was co-compèred by
Burzis Taraporevala and Yasmin
