A MESSAGE FROM THE ENTERTAINMENT DIRECTOR TONIGHT’S DRESS CODE: INFORMAL
Jacket required, tie optional for gentlemen, cocktail dress, stylish separates or
We hope you enjoy the many new innovations on Queen Victoria as well as
signature Cunard features such as our legendary White Star Service, as executed
by our crew, many of whom have worked on Cunard ships for decades refining
their art. Queen Victoria’s elegance and unique atmosphere will make this
a truly unforgettable voyage.
In each of Queen Victoria’s restaurants, a dedicated team of chefs
and waiters look forward to serving you. The Queens Grill, Princess Grill and
Britannia Restaurants, all feature menus created from the most carefully prepared
ingredients. For less formal dining, the extensive Lido Buffet presents masterfully
prepared meals from internationally inspired dishes and when it comes to pure
elegance, nothing surpasses afternoon tea in the Queens Room.
My staff and I are delighted to offer a large array of activities, stimulating
lectures and entertainment. The Daily Programme provides you with all essential
information about Queen Victoria, and is delivered to your stateroom/suite
every evening for the following day.
In the many bars and lounges on board you’ll find the company delightful and
the live music enchanting. In the Golden Lion Pub enjoy the traditional British Pub
atmosphere while participating in an interactive gameshow, karaoke or a pub quiz.
In the Chart Room you can hear cocktail melodies or celebrate with a glass of
bubbly in the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar. The unsurpassed ocean views from
the Commodore Club offer a stunning backdrop as we feature one of our resident
musicians. Nearby is Hemispheres, a venue for specialty lectures during the day
before it transforms into an elegant nightclub.
Queen Victoria’s entertainment is second to none. Lavish Production
Shows presented by the Royal Cunard Singers and Dancers as well as variety
entertainers from around the world offer dazzling performances in the remarkable
Royal Court Theatre spanning three decks and featuring the first theatre boxes at
sea. In the signature double height Queens Room the orchestra set the tempo on
one of the largest dance floors at sea.
171 years ago, when Samuel Cunard set out to deliver mail across the Atlantic,
he little realised he was taking the first step towards a new standard in luxury
travel. Cunard continues the tradition of style and grandeur on board Queen
Victoria. We hope you enjoy your voyage with us.

GENERAL
EMERGENCY DRILL
It is a requirement of law that all guests are exercised in the ship’s general
emergency procedures before the ship leaves her berth today. This drill will take
place at 4.00pm today. Prior to attending this drill we would like to bring your
attention to the safety notice on or near the back of your door and ask that you
view the safety film which is showing continuously on stateroom TV channel 21.
USE
OF LIFTS
We advise all guests to be cautious of automated lift doors and we ask that
parents do not allow unaccompanied children of less than 12 years of age to
use lifts. Lifts are not to be used in an emergency situation.
ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES
For those guests who are hard of hearing, assistive listening devices (headsets
and neckloops) are available from the Purser’s Office, deck 1. Please look in the
Daily Programme for the symbol shown above. This will be placed next to those
events which utilise the devices.

this by telephone immediately to the Medical Centre from your stateroom by
dialling 999/911. We ask for your cooperation preventing the possible spread
of this illness and recommend that when practical you use the bathroom in your
stateroom. It is vitally important that everyone on board maintains excellent
standards of personal hygiene as the virus is easily passed on from person
to person by touching surfaces such as handrails, door handles and elevator
buttons. The single most effective means of prevention is frequent and thorough
hand-washing. We recommend that you wash your hands using soap and warm
water for at least 20 seconds then rinse and dry them well each time you use
the toilet/restroom, after coughing or sneezing and before eating, drinking or
smoking. Please try to avoid touching your mouth with your hands. Whilst alcohol
hand sanitizers are no substitute for hand-washing, these have been provided for
your use in certain food service areas around the ship.

THE PORT OF SOUTHAMPTON
During 1911, Cunard Line purchased three
ships, renamed the Albania, Ausonia and
Ascania, to begin a new service between
London, Southampton and Canada. The route
was intended to
take advantage
of
a
treaty
signed between
the
Canadian
and
French
governments
whereby goods
shipped
to
Canada through a British port received a rebate.
Cargo was loaded in Tilbury Docks, London,
and passengers joined the ship in Southampton,
which then proceeded to Quebec and Montreal.
This new route was pioneered by the Albania,
which arrived in Southampton for the first time
on 2 May 1911, beginning a long relationship
between Cunard and Southampton. Cunard’s
headquarters remain in Southampton, now in the
modern surroundings of Carnival House.

Victoria. We hope you enjoy your voyage with us.

this by telephone immediately to the Medical Centre from your stateroom by
dialling 999/911. We ask for your cooperation preventing the possible spread
of this illness and recommend that when practical you use the bathroom in your
stateroom. It is vitally important that everyone on board maintains excellent
standards of personal hygiene as the virus is easily passed on from person
to person by touching surfaces such as handrails, door handles and elevator
buttons. The single most effective means of prevention is frequent and thorough
hand-washing. We recommend that you wash your hands using soap and warm
water for at least 20 seconds then rinse and dry them well each time you use
the toilet/restroom, after coughing or sneezing and before eating, drinking or
smoking. Please try to avoid touching your mouth with your hands. Whilst alcohol
hand sanitizers are no substitute for hand-washing, these have been provided for
your use in certain food service areas around the ship.

THE PORT OF SOUTHAMPTON
During 1911, Cunard Line purchased three
ships, renamed the Albania, Ausonia and
Ascania, to begin a new service between
London, Southampton and Canada. The route
was intended to
take advantage
of
a
treaty
signed between
the
Canadian
and
French
governments
whereby goods
shipped
to
Canada through a British port received a rebate.
Cargo was loaded in Tilbury Docks, London,
and passengers joined the ship in Southampton,
which then proceeded to Quebec and Montreal.
This new route was pioneered by the Albania,
which arrived in Southampton for the first time
on 2 May 1911, beginning a long relationship
between Cunard and Southampton. Cunard’s
headquarters remain in Southampton, now in the
modern surroundings of Carnival House.
