LEGENDARY MICROPHONE PRE AMPS
APHEX MIC PRE’S PROVIDE SUPERIOR TONE AND FLEXIBILITY FOR EVERY APPLICATION Aphex first began offering unique, and innovative microphone preamplifiers in
the early 90’s. The release of the Model 107 introduced the Company’s patented “RPA” (Reflective Plate Amplifier) technology, which allows a tube to be run at a much lower voltage than standard tube preamplifiers. The Aphex microphone preamp was highly praised worldwide in a multitude of product reviews and even won a TEC Award in 1995. In 1999,
Aphex released the revolutionary Model 1100, which featured the newly patented “MicLim” technology that limits “before” the preamp. The 1100 received even higher accolades than
it’s predecessor and the product won a PAR Excellence Award. Iconic musician, engineer and producer Alan Parsons, was quoted saying “The Aphex 1100 is the only preamp I use.”
2004 brought about the introduction of multiple Aphex microphone preamps. The 230 Master Voice Channel quickly became the industry standard Broadcast microphone channel.
To this day, Broadcast legend Rick Dees won’t use anything else. That same year also brought out the release of Aphex’s flagship Model 1788 remote controlled eight-channel preamp.
This system worked over a LAN and allowed the microphone preamps to remain on stage while they were controlled from FOH. The 1788A received a glowing review in Front Of House
magazine that ended with this quote; “We were, in short, totally blown away!” Today, Aphex continues to innovate with the Company’s primary design goal of delivering the best
sounding microphone preamps in the world.
APHEX 207D - TWO CHANNEL RPA TUBE MICROPHONE AND INSTRUMENT PREAMP The 207D utilizes Aphex’s award-winning RPA tube preamp technology and MicLim
limiters from the flagship Aphex Model 1788A. These limiters limit before the preamp, making the 207D virtually impervious to input clipping when used. This allows the user to record
hotter tracks in their DAW for the highest possible resolution.
FEATURES • Two Channel, Rack-Mounted, Patented RPA Tube Preamplifier • MicLims On Each Channel-Limits “Before” The Preamp • S/PDIF And AES/EBU Digital Outputs •

APHEX CHANNEL - MASTER PREAMP AND INPUT PROCESSOR The NEW Aphex Channel uses the same award winning RPA tube preamp as the 207D and includes six
other Aphex analog processors making it the perfect channel strip for almost any application. The instrument input makes the Channel a professional direct box for stage or
studio. Channel is an update of the legendary Aphex 230 which has become an industry standard in broadcast and voice-over work. Channel can be extremely transparent or
provide as much character as you need in any situation.
FEATURES • One Channel, Rack-Mounted, RPA Tube Preamplifier With Analog Processing • Patented Easyrider Class A Compressor • Patented Logic Assisted Gate •
• Split-Band De-Esser • Patented Big Bottom Processor • Parametric, Midrange EQ • Patented Aural Exciter Processor • Coaxial S/PDIF, Optical S/PDIF And AES/EBU Digital Outputs •
APHEX 188 - 8 CHANNEL REMOTE CONTROLLED PREAMP The Aphex 188 is an eight channel, remote controllable microphone preamplifier. It features both analog
and digital outputs and only takes up one rack space. For a live performance, the 188 can be mounted on or near the stage but controlled from the FOH over LAN. The 188
works just as well in the studio and will provide a very clean, transparent sound.
FEATURES • Eight channel, rack-mounted, remote controllable microphone preamplifier • Free remote software for PC (Store up to 60 presets) • Eight Aphex custom
transformer-coupled XLR mic inputs • Balanced, +4dBu, DB-25 analog outputs (Eight channels) • Two ADAT outputs (redundant @ 48kHz, SMUX @96kHz) •
• Control from AVID Pro Tools, AVID control surface or Yamaha digital mixer with optional 5200 MIDI/RS-422 over LAN •
APHEX 1788 - 8 CHANNEL REMOTE CONTROLLABLE PREAMP The Aphex flagship 1788 features two, balanced, +4dBu analog outputs per input. An optional digital
output card is also available and provides two AES/EBU eight channel outputs, two ADAT eight channel outputs and BNC word clock I/O. For a live performance, the 1788A
can be mounted on or near the stage but controlled from the FOH over LAN. The 1788A is a no compromise design using only the best materials available (like the Jensen
transformers). The 1788A was selected as the microphone preamp of choice for the 2011 Country Music Awards and the 2012 Academy Awards Shows.
