Since all roller cam lobes are ground flat instead of
tapered like a hydraulic or solid cam, it is necessary to provide some means of holding the cam
back to the rear of the engine. Rides between the
front of the timing gear and the back of the front
cover, and can be shimmed for proper end play in
the cam. COMP Cams® has available both the
solid nylon button and the roller thrust bearing, for
the ultimate in performance.

Professional engine builders are familiar
with camshaft walk. Excessive camshaft
end play can produce erratic spark timing
and the movement of the timing chain/gear
can destroy the timing cover. Moroso has
solved this problem with a wear resistant
cam stop button that mounts in an aluminum holder, which bolts to the
cam gear by way of a retaining plate. These button assemblies do not
allow the cam to walk forward, stabilizing ignition timing and preventing
costly engine damage.

Manufactured from high grade alloy steel, each polylock features our cold
formed 12 point reduced head for quick R and R. The bottom of each
polylock incorporates a .550” step that centers the polylock on the
trunion of the rocker arm. Each lock is finished in black oxide and is available in both 7/16” and 3/8”. Stud girdle polylocks have .950 long shank.

the spring at high RPM from “dancing” on the spring pad. Engine Works

seals provide both. A unique self-lubricating material allows a controlled amount of oil for valve guide and stem lubrication. Seals can

Premium quality flat shims are designed for strength under higher seat
pressures. Flat shims are especially important on aluminum heads as
they do not cut or damage the spring pad and lay flat so they create no
harmonics in the spring and are less likely to create lateral loading.
Each set contains 16 each of .015, .030 and .060 thick shims. Also
