Help Verland take care of our therapeutic friends
by adopting one of our horses or miniature donkeys.
Since 1982, Verland has offered Equestrian Therapy
for our individuals with intellectual & physical disabilities.

2. Donate $10-$1,000 ($150 each estimated monthly care)
It’s that simple!! For your efforts you will receive an adoption
certificate and the chance to get your picture taken with you
adopted friend.
Your fundraising efforts will help us maintain our wonderful fourlegged family; such as feed, supplements, farrier services, vet care
and other associated costs.

Bubba is a 18 year old Haflinger gelding and
has been Verland's top therapy horse for 7
years! He loves to give kisses and be the
center of attention when anyone is visiting
the stables. He is always the first to greet
new staff at orientations and will not
hesitate to give all of the Verland
individuals lots of love. Fun and games
aside, Bubba takes his work at Verland very
seriously and is an amazing therapy horse.
He is used for most of the riding therapies
we do, and never misses a beat.
Jada is a 11 year old paint mare who is the
newest addition to the Verland Equestrian
program. Being the new girl in town does not
bother Jada one bit as she has settled into her
new home very nicely. She loves to be groomed
by the individuals and will stand quietly while
being brushed snuggled and hugged by those
visiting the stables. Jada has a smooth, slow gait
that is perfect for individuals that struggle with
balance she has already proved herself
invaluable to the program and looks forward to
years of love from all of the individuals here at
Verland.
Our three miniature Sicilian donkeys, all 10 years old, make up for their small size with
HUGE personalities! Pedro, Oden, and Thor are always a hit with anyone coming to the barn,
these boys know how to make you smile. From the moment you hear their trademark “heehaws”, you can’t help but laugh. All of the Verland individuals love interacting with the
donkeys, but these boys hold a special place in the hearts of those who are physically unable
to ride. They are the perfect size for those in wheelchairs, and love to go for walks around
the campus.
