Albion is the only gallery in London to
incorporate a major global program that
represents leading international artists
including those from emerging markets.
Their exhibitions provide a world-wide
view of social and cultural issues. Albion
works with innovative artists, many of
whom create large-scale installation pieces
which can only be realised outside the
gallery’s walls. The first gallery in London
to commit their entire space to large scale
design exhibitions, Albion also leads the
emerging trend of the boundaries between
art and design becoming indistinguishable.

Arróniz Arte Contemporáneo comienza
trabajando como oficina independiente
en 1980, manejando principalmente
obra gráfica de un gran número de
artistas mexicanos ahora consolidados.
En el 2006 abrimos un nuevo espacio,
siendo la única galería en el país
especializada en ediciones limitadas y
obra sobre papel. Con la inclusión de
nuevos jóvenes artistas, manteniendo
como nuestra principal labor la
internacionalización de trabajos y
proyectos, presentamos un programa
de exposiciones que incluye creadores
consolidados y emergentes que
trabajan no sólo con obra sobre papel,
sino también con pintura, fotografía,
video o instalación, cuyo lenguaje se
relaciona con expresiones gráficas.
Paralelo a esto, trabajamos con
diferentes talleres de impresión
colaborando con artistas de otras
galerías en proyectos relacionados a
la edición, organizando muestras
internacionales.

Blow de la Barra is a London based
commercial art gallery showing the
work of international contemporary
artists. Blow de la Barra exhibits
proposals by artists with an international
reputation who have not previously had
a solo show in London while creating
a new dialogue with the London and
international scene. The gallery
programme aims to examine the
aesthetic issues that affect contemporary culture, including the legacy
and influence of conceptual and pop
art, and the relationship established
between aesthetics, poetics, politics,
economy and society. Within the
context of London as an international
platform, the gallery intends to create
new dialogues and to mediate between
other cultural and aesthetic forms and
proposals that exist beyond those
predominant in the contemporary art
scene.

|EDS| GALERIA is pleased to exhibit
its artists as a group show titled Spectacular for the FEMACO international
art fair. The presentation is coorganized by the New York-based
curator and art critic Raúl ZamudioTaylor, and he has curated the |EDS|
GALERIA booth as a museum or gallery
exhibition than the typical art fair stand.
The presentation’s title comes from a
work by the same name by Emilio
Chapela Perez, and Zamudio-Taylor
has opted to use it as curatorial foil
from which to weave the other works
by the gallery’s other artists. Chapela’s
work’s full title is Spectacular (but
empty) (2008), and for Zamudio-Taylor,
it is reminiscent of Guy Debord’s
important situationist book titled the
Society of the Spectacle published in
1967.

In 2005, the North Frisian Sönke
Magnus Müller opened his gallery
magnus müller in Berlin-Mitte. Müller
has studied art history in Florence,
Rome, Paris and Berlin and received
his master degree at the Free University
Berlin. He gained experience in the art
world working as an art critic and
curator at various institutions, such as
the Berlin Neue Nationalgalerie as
well as the Guggenheim Museum in
Venice and New York.
The magnus müller gallery focuses on
Conceptual Art and an interdisciplinarybased exploration of various mediums.
A common interest for space issues
and space perception unifies most of
the works of the represented artists.
The gallery is mainly interested in
debuting the work of young emerging,
Berlin based artists as well as in
presenting internationally reknown
artists to the Berlin audience. magnus
müller also engages with guest curators
to orchestrate group exhibitions
consisting of a mix between the gallery
artists and invited emerging artists. This
combination further encourages and
fuels the dynamism of the gallery space
and its contents.

La Associazione Prometeo se fundó
en Lucca en el 2002, desde entonces
ha desarrollado una intensa actividad
generando exposiciones tanto individuales como colectivas y ha mantenido
una estrecha relación con críticos y
comisarios con los que se han realizado
diversos proyectos de investigación.
En el espacio expositivo se han comisionado proyectos trascendentes como
las acciones Klassenkampf y Espreado
de poliuretano sobre 18 personas de
Santiago Sierra o Turn Over de Gianni
Motti. En noviembre del 2005 abrió un
nuevo espacio en Milán: Prometeogallery di Ida Pisani. Ubicada en la
emergente zona de Lambrate, Prometeogallery continúa con su vocación
por el arte contemporáneo combinando
artistas consolidados como Santiago
Sierra, Anibal López (A-1 53167),
Regina José Galindo (León de oro 51
Bienal de Venecia) con propuestas de
artistas emergentes, poniéndo especial
atención en la producción artística de
regiones periféricas y las posiciones
más radicales de la escena artística
internacional. En el 2008 abrirá un nuevo
espacio de experimentación en la
Ciudad de Lucca, donde en 2002 inició
su intensa labor.

Tiene como objetivo la creación de un
espacio que facilite el encuentro del
arte contemporáneo que se produce
en México con públicos diversos, tanto
nacional como extranjero. En octubre
de 2005 abre sus puertas en el
emblemático Edificio Vizcaya, sumándose al ambiente artístico generado
en el Centro Histórico de la ciudad. La
selección de sus artistas abarca varias
generaciones lo que abona las condiciones para que receptores que habitualmente no conviven entre si, se
vinculen.
Algunas otras estrategias han sido la
organización de exposiciones más allá
de su espacio y del tradicional perímetro del cubo blanco, la interrelación
con otras maneras de distribuir el objeto
artístico y el uso de soportes diversos.

INFORMACIÓN
La Galería Valle Ortí abrió sus puertas
por primera vez el 14 de noviembre de
1973 en un local de la calle Avellanas,
en pleno centro histórico de Valencia.
Este espacio, que cuenta con una sala
de exposiciones principal, otra de
menor tamaño dedicada a proyecciones
de vídeo, un amplio almacén y sótano,
sigue siendo el lugar desde donde se
plantea este renovado proyecto
galerístico más de treinta años
después. Nacho Valle, actual director,
comenzó su experiencia como galerista
en 1989, colaborando con su padre y
fundador (Vidal Valle) e iniciando una
importante transición conceptual y de
programación desde entonces,
obligadamente impulsada tras la muerte
de Éste en septiembre de 2001.
La reforma de la sala, realizada a
principios de la temporada 2002-2003,
ha sido determinante para ofrecer una
nueva visión espacial que vaya acorde
con otra de renovación de sus
inquietudes y pretensiones artísticas.
En este sentido, la Galería Valle Ortí
considera fundamental en esta nueva
etapa dejarse acompañar por artistas
jóvenes que buscan, tal vez hacia una
misma dirección desde posiciones
distintas, un mismo fin: mostrar las
diversas expresiones artísticas que
puedan dar una pequeña visión de
nuestra sociedad actual, compleja,
multicultural y polivalente.

La galería Visor fundada en 1982, está
especializada en la obra de artistas
que trabajan exclusivamente con
sopor tes fotográficos y vídeo,

las últimas tendencias.
Desde su inicio la galería trabaja
combinando la labor de artistas jóvenes
y de reconocido prestigio internacional.
Mostrando especial atención en artistas
latinoamericanos como: Flor Garduño
(México), Tatiana Parcero (México),
Juan F. Herrán (Colombia), Luis
Gonzalez Palma (Guatemala) o Alberto
Baraña (Colombia). Desde 2005 la
galería comenzó a mostrar artistas que
trabajan en video y cine dividiendo su
programación en tres apartados:

Inventio vs Imitatio was always the
decisive aspect in developing the
gallery’s program. Since 1992. when
Ulrich Voges founded his first gallery it
was his search for what was new and
surprising to the eye in any media that
impelled him forward and lead to the
present results. His main focus was on
the promotion and long-term
collaboration with artists of his own
generation and especially close link to
the local Staedel Art School resulted
in lasting cooperation with artists such
as Winter/Hoebert, Martin Liebscher,
Manfred Peckl, Rainer Neumier or most
recently Adrian Williams, who all are
now operating on broad international
platform.
In the last few years, new collaborattions
with Suzannah Sinclair (B), Betsabeé,
Romero (Mex), Felix Gmelin (S) and
Monique van Genderen (USA) are
taking the gallery profile to a more
international level, while participation
at art fairs like ARCO, FIAC, MACO,
art forum Berlin, dc, Fine Art Fair
Frankfurt and the VOLTAshow are
adding to that enduring quest.

In March 2003, Andrea Smith and Scott
Zieher opened ZieherSmith in a newly
renovated storefront space in Chelsea.
Dedicated to emerging and contemporary artists working in all media,
ZieherSmith presents technically sound,
conceptually grounded artwork in an
open environment, emphasizing new
artists who reconcile contemporary
experience in their own visual language
while maintaining a strong awareness
of historical precedents.
ZieherSmith is a long-standing member
of NADA (New Art Dealer's Alliance)
and Andrea has served as president
of NADA’s board of directors since
2006. Scott is co-founder and president
of the Emergency Press, a not-for-profit
organization that produces a bi-annual
literary and arts almanac as well as
publishes manuscripts by emerging
poets.
