Information Sheet Marathon Details Start Time: 7:00 am (6:00 am for walkers; anyone leaving at 6:00 am will NOT be eligible for awards or race qualifying) Start Location: Three miles north of Stratton, ME on Route 27 at Cathedral Pines Campground, Eustis, ME. (945 Arnold Trl Eustis, ME 04936) Finish Location: Baseball field near Jordan Lumber on West Kingfield Road, in Kingfield, ME (832 W Kingfield Rd Kingfield, ME 04947) Entry Fee: Entry includes runner’s packet, commemorative T-shirt, race bib with runner name, race support, postrace breakfast, finisher’s medal, post-race massage and bus transportation. Course: The marathon course follows scenic Route 27 from the town of Eustis to Kingfield. Road is not closed. All runners must stay in southbound (right-hand) lane while running. In the interest of safety, wheel chairs, baby joggers, bicycles, dogs and car escorts are not permitted. Review course map for elevation profile and detailed course info. Fluid Replacement: Aid stations with water and sports drink will be available every two miles (17 stations in all; see course map for locations). Gatorade will be the available sports drink cut 50/50 with water; orange flavor. GU Energy Gel is available at water stops at mile 9 and 17. Flavors are Chocolate, Tri Berry and Strawberry Banana. Transportation To Race Start From Tranten’s Store (near finish line): 363 Main St. Kingfield, ME 5:00 am Walkers 5:30 am Runners Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel (at ski resort; mile 11): 5092 Access Road, Carrabassett Valley, ME 5:10 am Walkers 5:45 am Runners Two buses will be at the start: 1 baggage bus that will take your belongings to the finsh area, (MUST HAVE racer ID tag from racer packet included on bag for identification) and 1 warm-up bus. From Finish Jordan Lumber Shuttle Pick-Up (approximately 300 yards from finish; signage provided) Shuttles will begin returning guests around 9:00 am and will run whenever necessary or full until the event concludes. Return to either the 15K start at Ayotte’s Country Store or the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel. Registration: For registration questions, please visit the Marathon website at sugarloaf.com/marathon All unclaimed Marathon bib numbers will be brought to the start line and are available for pick-up between 6:00 am6:30 am only; unclaimed 15k bib numbers will be available at the 15k start line from 6:15 am – 7:00 am. Pasta Dinner: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sat, May 14; Sugarloaf Base Lodge (same place as registration) Dinners are $17 for adults and $11 for children. Pick-up pre-purchased tickets at the dinner with valid ID. Lost & Found: Items left at water stops or anywhere else will be picked up and delivered to CVPD. Race organizers are NOT responsible for items left at water stops. Items will be saved for a total of 30 days.
