classic sash is 210 cms long
(82’’) by 15 cms wide (6’’) plus
two 70cms (28’’) length of fine
twisted fringes at each end.
The traditional colors: Red;Blue;
Orange;White and Green, are
still very vivid and compose
a classic arrow design. The
wool used is of the ‘’hard’’ type,
re-twisted, sign of an old sash.
Good, old Assomption sashes
are practically impossible to find
on the market.
RARE ROUND MINIATURE on IVORY,
on grey background, of the French
Royal family –Side view. Louis XVI,
Marie Antoinette, and the young
Dauphin, Louis XVII. Ca.1790. The
miniature is 7 cms (2 34’’) in diameter
and is inserted in a period square
wood frame 13 cms x 13 cms (5’’x 5
‘’). Under slump glass. Many period
representations of the royal family
,prohibited during the French
Revolution , were destroyed, and
surviving examples are rare and

HIGH EAGLE TOOLED LEATHER
CAIRNS & BROTHER NYFIRE HELMET.
Ca. 1900 This is a CHIEF’s FIREMAN’s
helmet, with white front plate
that reads ‘’CHIEF. over FD’ ‘on a
red background . The leather is in
excellent condition with very nice
tooling design that encompasses
the whole brim. Suspension ring
on back. It has a brass CAIRNS &
BRO-MEW YORK TAG inside and the
original velvet liner is present . The
front plate is 8’’ high, an indication
of an early helmet. The early style
3 dimensional detailled eagle
ornament has excellent detail and
is gorgeous. Rare in such a good
condition.
