Introduction
Company
Remora Electrical Ltd was established in 1973 to distribute cable glands,
junction boxes & stopping plugs, reducers & adaptors. We are conveniently
located close to the M1 near Sheffield, we are the only distributor for CCG
products for the mining industry.
Over the last decade we have grown our mining business with the help of the
mines & OEMs both in the UK & Europe. We carry comprehensive stocks
of ATEX approved mining products. We also stock a range of ATEX certified
adaptor plates to enable the direct fitting of our glands into a range of European manufactured motors & switchgear along with spigot adaptors.
We also supply a wide range of industrial products suitable for use in the
mines - this catalogue is designed for the mining industry & shows the range
of products we sell. This is not our full range – if your requirements do not
appear in this mining catalogue – give our knowledgeable team a call they
will be able to help.
All items from our UK stores are despatched overnight – for next day delivery
saving you valuable time and money. If however we need to order on the
factory our lead times are based on surprisingly short turn-around.
The factory in South Africa has a wealth of experience working closely within
its own mining industry to develop cable glands which are designed and
manufactured to withstand the robust environments of the mines.
The simplicity of the ‘Captive Components’ and ‘Built in Seals’ concepts
means that no matter where in the world the products are being installed, the
simplest of instructions will ensure that all parts have been correctly fitted.
All products are manufactured to ISO 90001-2000 underwritten by
Underwriters List (USA). CCG have a ATEX certificate for Group I products
ECS06ATEX2044. CCG glands are also approved for Group I applications in
South Africa and China as well as for Group II mines in Australia.

We offer cable glands to cover the full range of cables including armoured and nonarmoured and applications from general industrial use through increased saftey,
flameproof and explosion proof. We have only listed the cable glands specifically
designed for the mining applications, a full range is available on request.
Do I Need A Barrier Gland ?
Should your cable be filled, mining approved and substantially compact and circular,
has extruded bedding and the fillers are non-hygroscopic you may utilise a flameproof cable gland entry devices, incorporation a sealing ring greater than 20mm as
per EN 50018 - 2000 Annex C.

The FLP-TR Compression Gland is designed for use with unarmoured elastomeric and plastic cables where it is necessary to provide an flameproof seal. Fitted with two specially formulated elastomeric seals. Inner seals on the cable sheath. Harder outer seal
grips the cable, giving superior cable retention and IP rating. Seals on the cable outer sheath, to IP66/67/68 when fitted with sealing
gasket provided.

The CROCLOCK CR-CB type gland provides a Flameproof EExd compound filled barrier, a seal on the outer sheath, a universal
armour clamp for armoured, screened or braided cable and an entry thread seal. The armour clamp provides an eletrical bond between
the cable armour, screen or braid and the gland. CROCLOCK CR-CB type glands maintain EExd Flameproof method of explosion
protection; IP66, 68 to 100 meters and is deluge resistant.

The CROCLOCK CR-UB type gland provides a Flameproof EExd compound filled barrier, a secondary weather seal on the outer
sheath and an entry thread seal. CROCLOCK CR-UB type glands maintain Flameproof EExd integrity on unarmoured cable types
and IP protection to IP66, 68 to 100 meters and is deluge resistant.

SPIGOT HAS IM2 Ex d I/II 2G Ex d IIB Adaptor/Reducers
The HAS Type Spigot Adaptor/Reducers are intended for mounting to flameproof enclosure without compromising
the explosion protection provided by the enclosure, in accordance with relevant codes of practice. The enclosure has
minimum spigot bore length of 12.5mm. The Adaptor/Reducers are designed to convert the aperture of the associated
enclosure into a metric female thread form. The Adaptor consists of an elliptical metallic plate that has a female metric
thread form at one end for the connection of Group 1 certified cable glands, at the other end there is a turned cylindrical
spigot for insertion into the associated equipment spigot bore. The elliptical portion of the Adaptor has two, counter bored
fixing holes for use with cap head screws to secure the Adaptor to the enclosure. Armortex, FLP, FLP-TR & FLP Hose
range of cable glands can be used in conjunction with the HAS Adaptor/Reducers.
