As brides to be, we think that the only person who needs to be worried about
what they are wearing is us, but unfortunately there is another group we need
to think about……our bridesmaids. Yes, bridesmaids need to be considered when
thinking of wedding attire, especially when you have bridesmaids of different
body types. When looking for bridesmaid attire we need to find styles that
will fit bridal parties of all shapes and sizes. Here are a few things to
take into consideration when looking for dresses that are sure to make all
your bridesmaids feel gorgeous.
Fabric is a Game Changer
Who would think that fabric is such a big deal but trust me it is. The fabric
of a dress can go so much farther than just the look. Certain fabrics aren’t
flattering to all body types. Heavier fabrics are not made for larger more
curvy bodies because they add weight as opposed to lighter fabrics that move
with with a person. They allow a dress to actually flow over and accentuate

Fit Does Matter
When looking for a bridesmaid gown that will look good on all body types, try
to find gowns that have a fit that will compliment everyone. There are
certain cuts that don’t flatter slimmer shapes just as there are those that
don’t flatter curvier shapes. A-line dresses look good on all body types so
that’s a safe bet for everyone. But any dress that makes your bridesmaids
look fabulous will work. You want to make sure that all your bridesmaids are

Versatile is Key
When picking a dress make sure that the dress is versatile and can be worn in
different ways and by different body types and shapes. An important thing to
think about is to pick a dress that can be altered easily. Some bridesmaids
might want straps or even sleeves added. So check that the style you are
considering is one that will be versatile enough to support alterations and
