Our Mission…Connecting Books and Children
We partner with
businesses to provide
books for our local
schools!
(MTCI visits Henderson
ES in PWCS with BWC)
Our staff visits schools to share the
love of reading!
We bring customized literacy programs into
our classrooms (Apple Federal Credit Union
sponsors BWC’s Program R.E.D.I at Cougar
Elementary in the Manassas Park School
District).
We forge business partnerships with area school
districts (celebrating teachers and literacy at
Springfield Estates in Fairfax County).
We create memorable experiences for our
students by bringing authors to our local schools.
Our Philosophy
At Bookworm Central, we believe that good literature has the power to provoke thought, spark imagination, and shape
character. It reinforces the concepts essential to civilized society: courage, compassion, integrity, goodness, and gratitude.
Books bring these gifts to life, helping children develop inner resources that can be drawn upon throughout their lives.
Bookworm Central
Why work with Bookworm Central?
We strongly believe that what our children read matters, and therefore only the best books make it
into Bookworm Central Book Fairs.
“We hear time and time again from parents and teachers that our fairs provide an excellent selection of
quality books, both fiction and non-fiction.”
- Valerie K. –Nysmith School, Reston, VA
We know every school is a unique entity so each Bookworm Central book fair is unique and
customized.
“Bookworm is a wonderful company. I appreciate the individualized approach they have toward book fairs. It’s
not a one-size-fits-all affair. Teachers and parents browse with smiles on their faces because the books are
beautiful, diverse and engaging” - Jeffery B. –Pine Springs ES, Falls Church, VA
Bookworm Central is on the cutting edge of technology, building platforms and tools that are
unique in the industry.
“…the POS [Point-of-Sale] system was a breeze. I trained different volunteers every two hours, each day, and
it was very manageable to everyone. The training session was very much worthwhile for me, so thank you for
making that available to us.” - Kristen T. – British School of Washington
Bookworm Central’s Book Fairs Offer
Customization and Flexibility!
Bookworm Central offers a competitive proceeds schedule, allowing schools to maximize returns
on their fundraising effort.
“Many book fair chairmen worry that changing from large, national company-provided book fairs may
negatively impact their sales. This has not happened to us! Our customers like the quality and variety of
books, the emphasis on good reading and educational material and the lack of distraction from numerous
novelty items. We have had book fairs that are successful both financially and educationally. We could not
ask for more!” -Roberta L. - St. Louis Catholic School
Bookworm Central believes in offering top notch service.
“I have greatly enjoyed having Bookworm Central as my book fair vendor. They are efficient, courteous, and
endlessly helpful…My favorite aspects of their company are that they are a modest size and local. When I
call, I speak to someone who really knows the business and can get me the answers I need. I know the
staff’s names and they know mine, unlike some larger companies where I feel like I’m just another unknown
customer. I highly recommend Bookworm Central as the best book fair experience you will ever have in this
area.” -Amanda J. –Dominion Trail ES, Ashburn, VA
Bookworm Central is dedicated to promoting literacy and empowering students to become strong
readers and lifelong learners in different areas of study.
“Featherstone Elementary School is a participant in the SOAR (STEM Out and Read) Program, offered
though Bookworm Central. As a part of the SOAR program, Bookworm Central provided over 200 S.T.E.A.M.
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) books to Featherstone to be used in my fourth grade
classroom…Throughout the year with the SOAR program, the books were not only used as resources in the
classroom, but also for pleasure. It was extremely hard to keep the SOAR books on the shelves… The SOAR
program has allowed my students to love science and embrace the knowledge from these high interest
books provided by Bookworm Central.” - Asmahan Jackson, Math Committee Chair - Featherstone
Elementary School
