X-Games Real Snow Gold Medals, multiple showings
on Snowboarder Magazine’s Top Ten Riders on Earth
list, and a win for Rider of the Year at the 2012 Reels

Dan Brisse is one of the most versatile snowboarders on the planet. With back to back X-Games Gold
Medals and multiple appearances in Snowboarder Magazine’s Best Riders on Earth issue, Dan is
respected as one of the best in the game. In 2012, we put his name on his first signature board – a 157
backcountry machine. However, Brisse rides a few different decks to get the job done. He needs an
arsenal of boards specific for each aspect so we made them for him, and now, we’re making them for

As one of the most influential snowboarders on the
planet, Scott Stevens has taken web videos and DVD
players by storm. His snowboarding is truly avantgarde, and his skateboarding and Frisbee throwing
ain’t too shabby either. Just ask Scott’s best friend –
Maddie the dog. She loves hanging around the
skatepark watching no-complies. Given that ol‘

reckless abandon, it’s like a rabid raccoon in a
garbage can. Other times when he surfs that white
wave, it’s a thing of true beauty. Like a bald eagle

This is a very short essay on why I think Native
Americans are cooler than the non-native kind.
They lived in teepees yo!
The end.
To elaborate, teepees are mobile accommodations.
That means you can pick up your entire house and
just move to wherever you like, whenever you like.
Total freedom. Non-native Americans live in these
giant fancy structures made of wood and concrete
that they buy and sell for ridiculous amounts of
money. Eventually this silliness caused the economy
to collapse in 2008, and the world became a total
mess. It's 2013 right now, and we're still fucked. If we
all lived in teepees, none of this would have happened.

the world beyond the city / country / continent that
you grew up in. You know that there's so much shit
out there you need to experience, so do you have the

Hobos did that. They carried everything they owned
on their backs and just travelled. They were a loose
network of likeminded souls. All individuals, never in
a group, but they would leave each other messages
through symbols and pictograms along the way to
help each other out. They were the true American free

U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt said "speak softly,
and carry a Thunderstick." Ok, he did not actually say
that because he did not know the Greek god Zeus,
but he would have if he did. Coincidentally, we
actually know Zeus quite well, so he let us shave
some splinters from his boom-boom rod and we
infused it into the Thunderstick.
Zeus raised a lot of ruckus on earth. While we do not
encourage similar behavior, we wish to educate and
inform. Aside from an increase in thunder like activities, the Thunderstick also looks bad ass. It's red so
everyone can see you. It's got a three eye'd tiger on it
so everyone will know you're something fierce and
will back off when you snake them in the park. And,
it's totally brand new and shiny so everyone will want
to touch it.

UNICORNS ARE REALLY BIG
Unicorns rule. Period. Before God created Heaven and
Earth, there were Unicorns. They roamed the universe
grazing on stardust like you eat cereal for breakfast.
They were creatures of freedom. They did what they
pleased, and were too occupied with being free and
awesome to encroach on another unicorn's game.
When two unicorns fell in love, their awesomeness
exponentially multiplied. Eventually all Unicorns
found love and because so much awesomeness
happened at once the Universe imploded and
became the world we know now, where everything is
actually in reverse. The Unicorns transformed from
the physical form we depict them to an ethereal form
that exists in all atoms. This is why each and everyone
of us has a little bit of Unicorn inside us. It is also why
our potential for being awesome is limitless,
especially when we're in love.
Sidenote: Unicorns in their physical form are 3000
miles high at the shoulders. The Unicorn depicted on
this snowboard, is very very very small compared to

The core of a snowboard is just that: the core, the heart, the soul and the foundation for
everything else that goes into a board. This essential element will determine the overall
characteristics of the snowboard, even before one sheet of fiberglass is laid across it.
Each CAPiTA deck starts off with a wood core, tip-to-tail, rail-to-rail, allowing for
uniform flex, greater turn initiation control, and incredibly fast response. Different
species of wood, along with engineered core profiles help give each deck a unique feel
and targeted flex. We’ve engineered a series of core compositions, each with unique

Engineered specifically for our flagship model, this new core is a shining example of
our Space Age technical supremacy. Designed using some of the strongest materials
available, the HOVER Core™ is so light it essentially floats across the snow. Thin cut
FSC certified wood core strips are combined with a Flax fiber composite webbing to
create a unique ply configuration. The result is an energetic core that is extremely light
and strong with excellent dampening properties.
With Dan Brisse’s riding style in mind, the RFC SUSTAINABLE BAMBOO DUAL Core was
designed to perform when it’s all on the line. Ollie power, strength, dampening, and
reliability were terms emphasized in the design room. This poplar based core has been
beefed up with bamboo stringers through the inserts as well as along the edges. This
increases the energy throughout the board making it more responsive and powerful. Since
bamboo is one of the strongest woods available, durability goes through the roof allowing
you to go bigger, faster, and jib with confidence in even the sketchiest of scenarios.
The PANDA Core™ was built for a high performance return of energy in a lightweight
and versatile core. From razor sharp turns on demand, to huge ollies, this core was
engineered with all-terrain technical freestyle riding in mind. Comprised of our P2
Superlight core and enhanced with inlaid Bamboo Power Rods, this core is strong
enough to meet the needs of the TFA customer while saving considerable weight.
The DS SELECT Core was built for next level performance. It’s lightweight, with no
irregularities or finger joints which provides the most uniformly flexing core available.
The DS core is constructed with the highest quality poplar and beech woods. Beech is
placed along the rails, enabling the rider to hold a solid edge while carving, eliminating chatter at high speeds and contributing more power to ollies and landings. Poplar
strips are fused with the beech sections for increased strength and vibration absorption. The DS SELECT offers a consistent, comfortable, and powerful ride in a certified
sustainable full wood core.
Ever wanted to run your Charlie Slasher as a splitboard but didn't want to risk the
integrity of the core? The all new RFC SUSTAINABLE TOURING Core takes the DNA of
a Charlie Slasher and adds a doublewide ABS sidewall down the centerline. This
allows you the versatility to keep your Charlie intact as a powder machine, or to split
it down the middle into a touring set without risking water damage to the core.
The RFC SUSTAINABLE Core is the original eco-friendly core. It’s proven track record
offers an environmentally conscious consumer a sustainable alternative without
sacrificing any of the energy or stability expected from CAPiTA. These cores have been
re-forestation certified by a leading environmental agency for nature and habitat
sustainability, and made with a single species poplar grain for a smooth, consistent
ride. Extending from edge to edge and tip to tail the wood grain has no knots or finger
joints enhancing response and providing a completely uniform flex pattern.
Engineered for ‘anytime, anywhere’ performance reliability, the SS SELECT Core
provides a perfect balance between energy, stability, and POP. Vertically laminated
poplar is lightweight and has a long grain orientation. There are no irregularities or
finger joints allowing for consistent uniform flex throughout the deck.
The WDT Core was designed to give jibbers and park riders the softer flex patterns they
want without sacrificing durability. Short for ‘Wood Derived Technology,’ the patented
process of pressure bonding wood composite material retains the classic feel of a full
wood core board while increasing flex values. Engineered for freestyle, park, and street
rail boards the WDT core has high elasticity characteristics surrounding low-density
wood fibers. This balance provides a new realm of lightweight, soft flexing boards,
with a damp ride and dependable durability.
Fiberglass combined with a specialized resin is used on the top and bottom of the
wood core to protect it from water damage and is also a very important component
when controlling the torsional and longitudinal flex of our boards. When applying the
resin, we use a mechanized dispensing system which accurately provides a calculated
amount of resin per board to ensure the proper resin to glass ratio is being achieved.
This process eliminates potential dry spots, preventing de-lamination and ensures no
weight is added from excess resin. All CAPiTA boards are made this way and feature
one of the following glass and resin configurations.

The CUSTOM WEAVE configuration features a resin/glass application borrowed from
the marine industry, which yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing us to
decrease the wood core thickness. The main focus is to save wood core weight by
increasing resin performance. This means you get a lighter board while achieving
higher energy return. The biaxial/triaxial fiberglass combination creates more response
while increasing strength and durability. Combine this layup with one of the many
additives we have available and you get a high performing board tailored to meet your
style of riding.
SPECIAL BLEND EVO TECH is an Eco Friendly wet lay-up process that uses a polyurethane based resin component requiring lower consumption of energy and yielding
higher technical properties. This adhesion process improves the factory’s working
environment, as it does not contain some of the same harsh chemical characteristics
used in resins at other factories around the world. This configuration uses an optimum
blend of biaxial glass laminated in conjunction with structural additives to customize
performance objectives.
The FORM 6 glass configuration consists of 612g/m2 biaxial fiberglass placed on both
the base and topside of the core each layer having fibers oriented in zero and 90 degree
angles laminated to increase energy and durability. This progressive glass configuration is laid up wet by hand during the lamination process and provides a durable
predictable board that initiates turns easily, while retaining the pop necessary to handle
variable conditions.
Engineered to compliment the WDT Core construction, the PRE-PREG 420 configuration consists of 370 grams of e-glass in the zero direction and 50 grams of e-glass in the
90 direction. It’s pre-pregged for consistency and exits the mold with a high yield of
energy memory.
These 30mm carbon stringers are strategically pre-cured into an arched shape that
counters the board's camber profile. This cross configuration multiplies the energy
when the board is flexed and creates a board with twice the ollie power and response
than a board with standard carbon additives.
Originating from solidified volcanic lava, basalt is an abundant resource long known for
it’s thermal properties, strength, and durability. Carefully oriented into the board, this
natural material helps you increase power and pop while creating a damp, calm ride.
Known for its rigidity, high tensile strength, low weight, high temperature tolerance,
and low thermal expansion, carbon is one of the most popular materials used in
today’s high performance applications. This lightweight, strong material, when molded
into a snowboard, increases power and response while remaining ultralight.
Carbon is one of the most responsive, lightweight materials available. Kevlar is one of
the strongest, most durable materials available. The combination yields an optimum
blend of performance and reliability in snowboard construction.
This thin layer of black glass increases strength in key break zones helping to reduce
board failure.
This specialized structural material bonds with WDT Core technology to create
bombproof tip and tail zones, reducing failure from impact damage.

There are two basic types of base material used in our industry: extruded and sintered.
If you don’t like to wax often, but you do repair your base when necessary, extruded is

These bases are created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight Polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The miniscule spaces left
behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the
wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and
keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained
sintered bases are fast, durable, and are consistently the predominant first choice of
pro snowboarders worldwide.
Extruded base materials respond differently than sintered due to their lower molecular
weight. This type of base is the easiest to maintain and excels in park attacks and urban
jibbing. It repairs easily and when waxed, extruded base material will provide
excellent performance.
XXX[TRUDED]
The XXX[TRUDED] base material takes the characteristics and manufacturing
techniques used in creating normal extruded base material but due to higher pressure
and temperature, increases the surface hardness to levels near most sintered bases.
This increases the durability and surface strength creating a base that will last longer
and be more durable when jibbing and bombing around the mountain.

We use a classic, time proven, extruded base material for our mid-priced utility boards.
True to all extruded bases, the HMC bases are low maintenance, user-friendly bases
that perform well with or without your constant waxing and attention. The HMC
Extruded is a special “high molecular composition” base that is denser, more durable,
and more abrasion resistant than standard extruded bases. The result is a hard, fast,
and reliable base that will get you where you want to go.

Micro-Scope
Sidecut is the arching shape that the outer rails of the board take from the wide points
near the nose and tail toward the narrow point in the middle of the board. Sidecut
dictates the board's turning functionality along with the personality of a snowboard.
All CAPiTA boards are made with one of four sidecuts.
PROGRESSIVE
A true progressive sidecut consists of two or more radii blended together to accommodate the three stages of a turn. They provide easy turn initiation, while offering greater
control and stability throughout the turn, and maximum power when exiting.

Our New Age Directional sidecuts are Progressive sidecuts, which also incorporate a
reverse sidecut arc in the midsection of the board. Due to a reduced effective edge as
a result of hybrid camber shapes, this reverse camber arc provides a point of contact

A radial sidecut is a single radius design that allows your board to start and finish a
turn on the same arc.
Blended Radial sidecuts feature a single radius arc through the midsection of the board
combined with a custom designed blend zone at the contact points. Varying the length
of these blend zones and tailoring them specifically for certain aspects of riding greatly
improves a board’s performance.
Engineered specifically for deep powder riding, this radial sidecut is complemented by
a tapered tail. This narrower tail section naturally sinks in the powder while the wider
nose section floats above the snow line. The result is less work and more fun as the
board surfs on one smooth continual arc.
All snowboard shapes are designed with four blend zones. This is the area after the
sidecut ends and before the nose or tail shape starts. In this small section, the shape of
the board must transition from a sidecut arc going one direction into the tip shape arc
going in the opposite direction. This very important section of the board is similar to
the steering system in your car. It's the driving force in initiating turns and determining
where your board is going. A poorly designed blend zone will cause your board to be
hooky and turn slowly, and could limit your ability to transition between edges. CAPiTA
has taken the time to pay distinct attention to this detail, fine-tuning each and every
board to make sure your riding experience is balanced and perfect.
Technology integrated into snowboard construction affects many characteristics of a
board’s performance. Flex, along with weight, stability, energy and other factors come
into play when considering whether a board is right for you. Flex may be the most
important as it will determine how you are able to manipulate your board on snow.
Soft, flexible boards are great for jibbing and overall command over your snowboard,
especially in the park. They’re easy to ride and very forgiving. Stiffer boards have more
pop, more energy, and more stability at high speeds but they require more effort and
skill from the rider as well.
All boards in this catalog are rated on a scale from 1 to 10. The number given is the
estimated resistance the board may provide to the average customer.
The High Transparent Extruded base features an altered molecular composition that
allows more vibrant graphic options while keeping the low maintenance and technical
benefits of extrusion.

With Flat Kick design technology we’ve tightened the profile radius that blends the
shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height. This is a key area that influences the
tempo and feel of turn initiation. With traditional larger tip and tail arcs, the loaded
camber contributes to a board’s acceleration into a turn. On reverse camber boards the
contact points are elevated, removing this camber contribution. As a result, the same
traditional tip and tail radii would make the board feel sluggish. Specialized Flat Kick tip
and tail arcs combined with elevated reverse camber contact points achieve the ideal
tempo into turns. This allows you to have the shorter effective edge of a forgiving, easy
to ride, reverse camber snowboard that is still responsive and quick during edge-toedge transitions.
