Slotted Angle Shelving
Slotted Angle Shelving Assembly Instructions and User Guide Assembly specification These instructions are to assemble Dexion Slotted Angle Shelving which conforms with the specifications below. • Frame heights not more than 2286mm • Frame depths 400 mm • Not less than five storage levels in a bay • Uniformly distributed load per shelf Refer to your Dexion Supply Centre for assembly of shelving units outside these specifications. Site requirements Floor Should generally be of a solid CONCRETE construction designed to accept the point loads imposed by the shelving legs. Installations on other types of floor, such as timber, bitumen and tarmac, should be specifically designed to suit the strength of the individual floor. Dry conditions Components and load data are based on dry internal applications. Temperature range +3°C to +40°C. Applications in chill and cold stores with operating temperatures below +3°C, and where moisture is likely to be present, may require components with additional corrosion protection. A ttach Baseplates to Angle Uprights using M8x16 Nuts and Bolts. 2. Using M8x16 Nuts and Bolts fix Corner Plates to Angle Uprights. Note Angle Upright corners where a Batten will be attached (top rear and bottom front of shelving) only require 1 Corner Plate to be affixed. Rear Uprights Angle Uprights positioned at the rear of the shelving unit have 1 Corner Plate at the top of the Angle Upright and 2 Corner Plates at the base of the Angle Upright. S ecure the Batten by bolting to the Angle Uprights. They are located at the bottom front (as a kick plate), and at the rear top. Use M8x16 Nuts and Bolts at either end of the Batten when fixing it to the Angle Upright. Then fix the top and bottom Shelf to form the shelving bay. The Shelf Clip fits into two holes at 38mm in the Angle Upright to form a rigid support and location for each Shelf corner. PAGE 6 of 7 6. Secure Shelves on the Shelf Clips throughout the bay. Slotted Angle Shelving Assembly Instructions and User Guide Important safety information and guidelines for use Recommended safe loading The illustration below depicts the recommended safe loadings from the EU Directive for Manual Handling. This is a guide only, recognising the wide range of personal capabilities, together with the diversity of handling situations. General care Little or no maintenance is required other than cleaning. Wipe with a damp cloth, using a mild detergent (only if required). • Do not use a hose to spray the shelving • Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaning agents Inspections Periodic inspections should be carried out to identify any damage or issues due to incorrect use. Check for the following: • Upright fixings are secure • Shelves are free from damage • Shelves are not overloaded • All shelf clips are correctly engaged • Shelves are fully engaged in the clip slots • Rack out-of-plumb should not exceed height/500 in both directions IMPORTANT If the shelving is damaged it should be reported immediately to ensure the necessary precautionary actions are taken. It is not recommended to repair damaged components. Any part no longer fit for use should be replaced on a like for like basis. Never cut and splice in a small piece of upright or apply heat in an attempt to straighten bent components.
