(Denise Phua Lay Peng)

Denise Phua Lay Peng.
Marilah kita menjadi

Moulmein-Kallang GRC (Kampong Glam)
A WORD FROM YOUR MP
Dear Residents,
I am happy to serve you again; as I begin my second term as elected
MP of Moulmein-Kallang GRC. The GRC team has agreed that Kampong
Glam will still be under my direct care. I look forward to meeting you and
partnering you to build a caring community for all our residents.
Besides my weekly Meet-The-People session and house visits, you can
also contact me at Facebook under my full name, Denise Phua Lay Peng.
Recently, some residents celebrated Good Neighbours’ Day with me. I was
reminded of an old lady in her 90s whom I met during my house visits.
Madam Ang is usually alone during the day. Her good neighbour living
next door took care of her by buying rice for her daily. Recently, when she
fell and hurt herself badly at home, she was rushed to the hospital by her
neighbour.
must care enough to have the courage to
speak up on things that can be improved.
We need to balance our courage with
consideration for the interests of others
as we are usually not the only one in
need. In doing so, let us remember to
be courteous especially to those we
think are not important people. Best
if we each try our best to contribute
to be part of the solution to make our
neighbourhood a better one.
Each of us can be a good neighbour and play our part in making our
neighbourhood a more humane one. Like Indian hero, Mahatma Gandhi
shared, we need to be the change we wish to see in the world. So, be the
type of neighbour that you yourself wish you have.
If each of us does our best to
be a good neighbour and
apply the suggested 5Cs
in our community, our
country will not only be
rich and peaceful; it will
be a gracious and joyful
Singapore we will all be
proud of.
I hope you will join me in applying the following values in our daily lives the 5 Cs of Care, Courage, Consideration, Courtesy and Contribution. We
Happy 46th National
Day!
