Simple How To Make…
Tin Can Cactus Garden
MATERIALS
REQUIRED
• Empty, clean tin cans
• Resene Waterbourne Smooth Surface Sealer
• Resene Paint:
We used Resene Lustacryl in Resene Tango,
Resene Golden Dream, Resene Monza, Resene
Citron & Resene Gunsmoke
• Paint brush – Testpot brush 25ml
• Cactus and succulent potting mix
• Cactus plants
1. Apply a coat of Resene smooth surface sealer over the outside of the cans.
2. Once dried, paint your chosen Resene colours.
3. Fill the bottom of the cans with potting mix.
4. Carefully remove your cactus from its original pot using gardening gloves or a soft
piece of cloth and place into the tin, pressing down gently but firmly so the root structure is secure. Top up with potting mix around the edges of the tin can if required.
