CASE STUDY 1
Leading the Way
Background
An archetypal aged surface dressed road situated within a heavily shaded residential area, prior to the
Armaseal Lockcote application still retaining good texture but the early signs of fretting are visible.

CASE STUDY 2
Leading the Way
Background
Sprayco Armaseal was applied to new Surface Dressing after one month. Site consists of one
untreated section so a comparison can be made.
Results
The untreated section required backsweeping 5 times over the first winter compared with the
Sprayco Armaseal treated section which required no backsweeping and showed no visible chip loss.

Sprayco Armaseal Lockcote Application - 2 Years on
Results
A fast A-Road heavily shaded and damp. Sprayco Armaseal was applied to the new surface dressing.
Two winters later there is no visible chipping loss and a tight and stable chipping matrix is evident.
Benefits of Sprayco Armaseal
Lockcote Applications
• Stabilises new dressings at an early stage,
retaining a higher percentage of aggregate in
the dressing.
• Reduces or eliminates the need for further
backsweeping after dressing & during the
first winter.
• Aesthetically pleasing black appearance,
similar to a new asphaltic surface course.
• Seals new dressings, reducing oxidation of
primary surface dressing binder.
• Stabilises & reduces / eliminates fretting of
old surface dressings with good retained
texture, thus economically extending their life.
