Pencil Pennants
Flag down customers with colorful pennants
Girls will learn new ways to tell people about cookies as they use their marketing skills to
create message flags for their pencils.
Help girls put their marketing skills into
action to promote their cookie business. Let friends
and family know It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time with
these pennant flag pencil toppers. Girls and parents
can use them to write with throughout their day to get
the word out. Consider using one side to communicate goals.
Supplies
Pencils
Pencil Pennants Templates (included)
Colorful construction paper
Glue or tape
Markers
Cookie clip art (included)
Scissors
Preparation
Decide whether you plan to make your pennants from the color template, the black and white template, or
from plain construction paper. Print or secure enough templates and clip art for each girl to make a pennant.
Make sample pennants to demonstrate project and to inspire girls
Instructions
Cut out templates
Decorate templates with messages and clip art
Cut out a piece of construction paper slightly larger than the
template girls are decorating.
Glue the decorated template to the construction paper
Wrap completed pennant around the top half of a pencil and
tape and/or glue into place.
Start taking cookie orders!
Tips:
Use one side for Cookie Time messaging, and use the other side to
promote the new cookie, or communicate your sales or activity goals.
Hand out a template with each order card to inspire girls to have fun
getting engaged in marketing their cookie business.
Suggest girls make a pencil for each member of their family to use so
that they can help take orders and support her cookie business too!
