Every summer, Port O’Connor (POC) plays host to a variety of bay and offshore fishing tournaments. That’s because
POC offers an array of fish to chase: red snapper, king, ling, jack fish, sailfish, marlin, tuna, wahoo, flounder and pompano.
This stretch of Texas Coast, with bays, creeks, lakes and marshlands is truly a fisherman’s paradise. For more information
on tournaments or obtaining fishing guides, contact the POC Chamber at (361) 983-2898.
18th Annual Pescado Grande Fishing Tournament (June 27th-28th)
Join the adventure of the Pescado Grande on Saturday, June 28th at the fishing center in Port O’Connor. There are cash
prizes for both the Bay Division and Offshore Divisions. For more information, contact Port O’Connor Chamber at
(361) 983-2898. Proceeds benefit The Harbor Children’s Alliance & Victim Center. So come out and help a great cause.
Poco Bueno Fishing Tournament (July 16th-19th)
This annual, invitational in-shore and offshore tournament is a Texas Classic, drawing sport fishermen from across the
nation with an average of 80 to 90 boats competing in this four day event. The entry fee is hefty, but so are the amazing
cash prizes. For more information, contact CCA at (713) 626-4222.
