H el l o M em b ers,
After the strangest winter and spring weather seasons
I can remember, I’m READY for summer! The weather,
among other things, doesn’t always cooperate with
our plans but let’s be reminded to enjoy each day
we’re given. As Four Seasons Club members you’re
rewarded for making the most of your time at Crystal
and none of us can afford to put off family fun time.
Just as wonderful as Dove Chocolate PROMISES® (my
favorite by the way), are the reminders found inside
the wrappers. Along those lines, here are a few of my
favorite quotes which remind me to enjoy each day.
I hope they’ll encourage you and your family as well.
Life’s truest happiness is found in friendships we make
along the way. – Unknown

you happy in the future. Think how really precious is

savored. – Earl Nightingale

Nestled into the woods and steeped in north country charm, Trailside is a very
special part of Crystal Mountain’s vibrant resort community. The Trailside phase III
homesites offer stunning views of the 9th fairway and green and the large pond
that lies between the #9 and #10 Mountain Ridge holes. The lots are mostly level
with some meadow areas, but the primary vegetation is a mix of mature pines
and hardwoods. The year-round appeal of the Trailside community is enhanced
by its proximity to a network of hiking, biking and cross-country ski trails.

Ina developed and teaches the very successful two- and three-day mini camps for juniors
ages 7-12. In addition, she has implemented the PGA’s Play Golf America Program and
Get Golf Ready - which teaches new to intermediate golfers the fundamentals of the
swing, golf course etiquette and rules, and includes supervised playing experiences.
In 2007, Ina was the finalist for the Michigan Section PGA Junior Golf Leader of the Year
award. Ina was also named one of the best instructors in Michigan by Golf Digest. She is
also a Crystal Mountain Service Excellence Award winner and proud Crystal Mountain
property owner.

THE KOOL FAMILY • RICHLAND, MI
Meet The Kools. They’ve been members since the program began and
have owned in Wintergreen, MountainTop and now MountainSide.
Tim owns Chevrolet dealerships in Battle Creek and Coldwater while
Lyn works retail in Kalamazoo. They’re very active in their church and
in their community. Tim sits on several boards including United Way,
Sherman Lake Y Center, Battle Creek Community Foundations, Michigan
Automobile Dealers Association and Battle Creek Unlimited (economic
development organization.)
Tim and Lyn both skied in high school and college and thought it would
be a fun family activity. They introduced their daughters, Staci and Amy,
to the sport through Crystal’s Snowsports School. According to Tim, “They
fell in love with it.” They also enjoy several summer concerts at Interlochen
Center for the Arts and fall fishing on the Manistee River. Tim explains, “We
love the convenience of having season ski passes. We also take advantage
of many of the discounts available through the FSC and it’s a good way
to keep up-to-date on what’s happening at the resort.
Since we’ve owned MountainSide (with work partners) many of our
managers and staff are now discovering what a great family resort
Crystal Mountain is. We also use the condo to help other organizations.
At least 20% of the stays at our place are gifts to charitable causes or
donations. Many guests are families who need and deserve a vacation
but can’t afford a nice place like Crystal. We feel very blessed in
helping others in this way.”
