Vi har 85 medlemsland på alle kontinenter.
Med relevante attester menes kun attester
fra jobber/verv som kan være relevante for
jobben du søker på. Du trenger for eksempel
ikke å legge ved attester for militærtjeneste eller
butikkjobber.
Hva skal til for å få en jobb?
For å være kvalifisert til en jobb må du oppfylle
kravene i jobbeskrivelsen. De fleste jobbene
krever ingen tidligere arbeidserfaring. Dersom de
gjør det, står det spesifisert. IAESTE velger ut den
beste kandidaten, og sender søknadspapirene
til arbeidsgiver, som har siste ord i om du blir
akseptert.
Må jeg skaffe bolig selv?
I de aller fleste tilfeller ordner IAESTE i
mottakslandet dette. Du må som regel betale
husleien selv.
Hvor mange fag skal jeg ha med
fagbeskrivelse til, og hvor finner
jeg disse?
Du skal kun ha med fagbeskrivelse til fag som er
relevante til jobbene du søker på. Du finner disse
på hjemmesiden til ditt lærested.
Jeg søkte i fjor, men ble ikke
nominert. Kan jeg søke igjen?
Ja, det teller også positivt på søknaden din at
du har søkt tidligere.
Stipend: For noen jobber er lønnsnivået lavt i forhold til
reise- og levekostnadene. IAESTE deler derfor ut
stipend til enkelte jobber. Størrelsen på stipendet
står nærmere beskrevet i jobbannonsene.
Dersom du har hatt store, uventede kostnader i
løpet av arbeidsoppholdet er det også mulig
å søke om et ekstraordinært stipend etter at
arbeidsoppholdet er over.

Mitt opphold på Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) i Sveits gjennom IAESTE
Reisebrev
Arbeidshverdagen bestod av mye
labarbeid, litt lesing (siden jeg ikke kunne
noe særlig om emnet før jeg kom til
Sveits) og litt behandling og tolking av
data. Før jeg dro, måtte jeg også skrive
en rapport om arbeidet og holde en
ca. 30 minutters presentasjon av prosjektet. Dette var litt skummelt foran en hel
gjeng som er eksperter på batterier, men
jeg overlevde det også.
Jeg hadde egentlig ikke tenkt så mye på å dra
utenlands for å jobbe før, men jeg innså at nå var
min siste sjanse for sommerjobb i utlandet, da jeg
skulle begynne på sisteåret av studiene høsten
etter. Da jeg i tillegg fant en stilling som så veldig
interessant og relevant ut, ved batterigruppa på
Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), var det bare å søke!
Ankomst og første dag i Sveits
Jeg reiste mandags morgen med fly til Zürich.
Deretter tok jeg toget videre til Brugg, og d
eretter
buss til PSI, hvor jeg dro rett på jobb. Her ble
jeg tatt imot av en av kollegene i batterigruppa
på PSI. Hun hjalp meg med å finne rommet på
pensjonatet, ordne tilgang til arbeidsplassen, viste
meg kontorplassen min og viste meg generelt rundt
og introduserte meg til resten av gruppa og ga
meg litt generell informasjon om arbeidstid, butikker
i nærheten og andre praktiske ting.

Sosialt
Hver eneste helg i løpet av sommeren
var det arrangementer i regi av IAESTE
Sveits. Jeg deltok på noen av disse, og
det var veldig morsomt! Helgearrangementene foregår over hele Sveits og inkluderer alt fra musikkfestivaler, bading, tur
i alpene, sykling, CERN og s trikkhopping.
På disse helgene blir man godt kjent
med andre IAESTE studenter i Sveits
og man får utforsket landet. Absolutt å
anbefale!
Arbeidsplass
Paul Scherrer Institute er det største
forskningssenteret for natur og ingeniørvitenskap
i Sveits. Det er mellom 2000 og 5000
ansatte, avhengig av om man teller med alle
midlertidige, ph.d.studenter og lignende. PSI
driver med et bredt spekter av forskning. Jeg
arbeidet på b
atterigruppa som er en del av
elektrokjemilaboratoriet. I løpet av sommeren fikk
jeg jobbet med et miniforskningsprosjekt, der jeg
prøvde å lage et nytt materiale for Liionbatterier
som hadde kapasitet til å lagre større mengder
energi enn dagens batterier.

Reisebrev
Oppsummert
Alt i alt var oppholdet utrolig spennende og lærerikt. Jeg lærte masse på jobb og
ble kjent med mange hyggelige mennesker. Sveits er jo på veldig mange måter veldig
likt Norge, så det var ikke et stort kultursjokk. Det var likevel spennende å få prøve å
jobbe i et internasjonalt miljø, og godt å få prøvd å gjøre noe veldig annet enn å
bare sitte ved skolebenken. Jeg er også veldig fornøyd med gjengen i IAESTE Sveits
de hadde lagd et utrolig bra opplegg for hele sommeren! Jeg vil absolutt anbefale
både Sveits som land og PSI som arbeidsgiver for andre som skal jobbe i utlandet.

1. CV: Bør følge samme standard som ved jobbsøking i Norge.
2. Karakterer: Karakterutskrift på engelsk av alle relevante fag du har tatt på
universitets/høgskole-nivå.
Når du har opprettet en profil, må du også opprette en
studentprofil med informasjon om hva du studerer. Trykk på

Solar energy utilization for various domestic and industrial applications have become more popular in the
last few decades owing to increasing enegy cost and demand. Especially, for industrial applications, use
of solar energy greatly reduces the cost of energy as well as the emission concerns associated with the
conventional energy sources. The concept of creating turbulence in the flow using turbulence in the flow
using turbulators is a very common method and very effective. However, turbulators can increase pressure
losses in the air flow. Various turbulators designs have been tested in the literature and the results, in general,
indicate that the turbulators significantly enhance heat transfer. However, the extent of pressure loss is found
to be varying for different designs. In this proposed project, the concept of composite turbulators will be
used to achieve higher thermal performance while maintaining lower pressure loss in the air flow.
