CAPTAIN LAWRENCE E. KRUKIN
SUPPLY CORPS, U.S. NAVY (RETIRED)
Captain Krukin, a native of Norfolk, Virginia, was graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic
Institute in June 1953 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He began is active duty service
when he entered Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I., and was commissioned an Ensign
in the Supply Corps in February L954. In 1954 and 1955, he was Assistant Supply Officer
aboard the USS ANTARES (AK258). From 1955 to 1957, Captain Ikukin was Supply and
Disbursing Officer aboard the USS STEINAKER (DDR863). In 1957, he was on the staff of
the Commander Service Force, Atlantic Fleet as Special Projects Officer. This was followed by
duty with the Commander, Amphibious Training Forces, Atlantic, as Supply Officer for the
Naval Review Information Bureau. From July 1957 to July t959, Captain Krukin was Director
of the Inventory Department at the Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, Virginia. From 1959 to
1962, he was the U.S. Navy United Nations Emergency Force Liaison Officer in Pisa, Italy,
working with Army, Air Force, and Navy activities to support the United Nations Emergency
Force (UNEF) in the Gaza Strip. From 1963 to 1965, Captain Krukin was Assistant Director
for the Navy Small Business Program in the Office of Naval Material, Washington, D.C. The
years 1965 through 1967 were qpent aboard the USS COLUMBUS (CG12) as Supply Officer,
followed by duty at the Electronics Supply Office, Great Lakes, Illinois as Director, Planning
Division, until 1970. From June 1970 to June 1971, Captain Krukin was Public Affairs Officer
for the Naval Supply Systems Command Headquarters, Washington, D.C. Immediately
following that assignment, he reported to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations as
Secondary Item Support Program Assistant until July 1973. From August 1973 through June
1974, Captain Krukin was a student at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in
Washington, D.C. From luly 1974 to July 1977, he was attached to the Naval Supply Center,
Norfolk, Virginia, where he was first assigned as Director of the Material Department, followed
by duty as Director of the Planning Department. Captain Krukin was the Commanding Officer
of the Navy Regional Finance Center, Washington, D.C. from July 1977 unnl his retirement
from active duty in August 1980. Captain Iftukin received his Master's Degree in Management
from the U.S. Navel Postgraduate School, Monterey, California in June 1963.
