INSULPANEL MANUAL 1 OF 7 INTRODUCTION INSULPANEL INSULPANEL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE INSULPANEL WALL INSULPANEL ROOF INSULFOIL INSTALLATION COLD ROOMS INTRODUCTION A. ¿WHAT IS THE INSULPANEL? It is a modular panel made up of an expanded and self-extinguishing polystyrene nucleus; and is covered on both sides with a galvanized and pre-painted steel sheet. It is designed to be used as: • Roof • Exterior wall • Interior wall • Soffit It can also be easily combined with other building materials, thus achieving a greater flexibility from the beginning of the project up until its installation. Insulpanel Roof It is manufactured through a continuous process; therefore, the required length can be supplied in a single piece, up to 40 ft in length. The only restrictions are the type of transportation and the handling during its installation. The system is complemented by a variety of sheet metal, fixing and sealing accessories, which offer a final appearance with great aesthetic quality. 01 Insulpanel Wall Z-Lock Advantages • Quick installation due to the systems simplicity • Time savings during the construction phase • Thermal insulation • Waterproof • It is a light product with an excellent structural strength • Mechanical stability and weather resistant • A variety of finishes and colors available • Can be reused in the event of a move and/or expansion Insulpanel Wall Offset B. APPLICATIONS Due to the absence of thermal bridges and to its structural resistance, INSULPANEL is the perfect material to build: Huts, industrial units, warehouses, homes, commercial buildings, expansions, additional levels, dividing walls, covers, carports, utility rooms, computer rooms, workshops, laboratories, refrigerators, clean rooms, freezers, mobile homes, slaughterhouses, mobile buildings, among others. INTRODUCTION C. PANEL COMPONENTS Polystyrene The panel is supplied with polystyrene in a variety of thicknesses, from 2” (5.08 cm) to a maximum of 12” (30.48 cm). Standard density of 1 lb/ft³ (16 kg/m3). 1.0 lb / ft³ (16 kg / m³) 3.84 ft2 · h·°F/Btu (0.677 m2K/W) 08 Sheet metal Sheet metal with a smooth or sectional finish, or a combination of both, 26 gauge (24 gauge is considered a custom order); manufactured with ASTM A-653 steel: pre-painted galvanized steel, and AZ-50 Galvalume steel (sheet covered with an aluminum, zinc and silica alloy; high chemical resistance and can be painted); and a third option is stainless steel with a chemical composition per the ASTM A 240/a 240m-09a STD. Norm, and also with the mechanical properties and chemical composition set forth in norms: ASTM A 666-03, ASME SA240-95, QQ-S-766-D, MIL-S-5059-D. Steel properties Quality Continuous SAE 1006 type cast Classification Commercial quality type “B” per norm ASTM A - 653 Fy = 2600 kg/cm² (37 ksi) Galvanization properties Type Zinc coating applied by a hot immersion process Designation G-60, according to norm ASTM A-653 INTRODUCTION Average durability of the steel sheet’s coating (years) 09 Environment Years Saline 7 Rural 25 Industrial light 15 Industrial heavy 10 Animal confinement NR *Note: Reference values, no warranty. D. PAINTS AND FINISHES The sheet metal’s original finish has been weathered (baked), and it becomes an excellent base coating or primer for repainting. It is important to point out that the original paint has a greater durability than commercial paint; therefore, the paint must be carefully selected, and according to this selection, if the repainting is eventually carried out, it is recommended to use epoxy paint. The standard coating is the polyester paint in white and sand colors. INTRODUCTION Other options and their respective colors are also offered as special orders. Each of these coatings protects the panel from the environmental conditions in a different way, such as the anticorrosive finish, and as its name implies, it is recommended for areas with high salt content, such as coastal areas. This finish is available in standard and sand white; any other color is considered a custom order. Another finish characteristic is the steel sheet’s texture, which can be “smooth” or have a slight textue, called “embossed” finish, with a depth of at least 79 mil. Profile types The following profiles are available: Shallow, channeled “nine groove” with a width of 0.63 cm (1/4”), and can also be supplied without a profile (smooth) on both sides. Type profile “Nine Groove“ 10 VARIABLE “Nine Groove“ corrugated shallow with a width of 0.63 cm ( 1/4“) No profile (*) VARIABLE (*) The panels “no profile” should apply to special order, it is necessary that the technical department FANOSA check the final product application.
