The yearly Auction is an event produced through months of love and dedication for the benefit of Maclay School and her students. The investment in education is the only one that guarantees top results and exponential returns. Tonight we come together to invest in our school, our own, Miracle on Meridian. Thank you for taking the time to spend with friends and make a difference in the lives of Maclay students and our future. I cannot go any further without recognizing the force behind this spectacular event, Sara Merrill. As with any exceptional leader, Sara surrounded herself with a talented team that raised the bar in every way. Sara, has always humbly deferred praise to her team but her leadership is inspiring and appreciated. This wonderful team of volunteers have put in countless hours of work for Maclay. I and the school are so very thankful. Please enjoy your time tonight and thank you in advance for your generosity and spirited bidding as we take another step into our future. Ever forward, James Milford Head of School Dear Maclay Friends, Welcome y'all, to Maclay's Southern Soiree! Sweet tea, magnolias, bow ties - and so much more! This is such a special time for Maclay family and friends to enjoy an evening of delight and fun, and to celebrate and promote “our dear Maclay.” An exciting addition this year is mobile bidding. No more hovering over bid sheets. Just register your smartphone with any bidding assistant and start bidding. You’ll receive text messages when you have been outbid. So bid often and bid high! As you know, this evening is not possible without “The Committee Members.” With bright ideas and hard work, they are the folks who cheerfully gather the myriad of details, large and small, and turn them into a spectacular event. We've had great, good fun - and now, we hope you do too! Of course, your participation is the key - as donors, sponsors, contributors of fantastic auction items, and as gleeful, generous bidders. Thank you, Thank you! Richards Mobile Bidding - The Silent Auction Transformed The Southern Soiree’ team is pleased to introduce Mobile Bidding at this year's auction, allowing for a completely paperless bidding system. With mobile bidding, you will bid electronically on silent auction items using your smartphone, tablet (iPad, Samsung Galaxy, etc.) or iPad bidding stations available at the event. You can easily track your desired items by following their activity from your mobile device, without having to return to the actual item. There will be no auction bidding sheets on the display tables, which will eliminate overcrowding around auction items. Mobile bidding will make the event run more efficiently from registration to checkout. Frequently Asked Questions What are the benefits of mobile bidding? 1. All silent auction items are available online or on your mobile device. 2. Once bidding starts, you will be alerted on your mobile device when you have been outbid, so you can instantly respond with another bid. 3. Bidding can occur at any location within the auction itself, whether you are in line for the bar or mingling with friends. You do not have to be at the display tables to make a bid. 4. All auction bidding will be tracked, displayed and announced in real time throughout the evening. How can I participate in mobile bidding? To participate in mobile bidding simply register your mobile device at check-in. What about attendees who don't own or don't wish to use mobile devices? IPads will be available on-site for those that don’t own or don’t wish to use a mobile device. Volunteers will be available to assist with questions and uncertainties. Mobile Bidding instructions 1.
