ADVANCING EDUCATION INCOME AND HEALTH SAMBANDH (E-Newsletter) April 2016 Issue No. : 45 Our projects have scaled new heights this year. Fusion Study Foundation celebrated 10 years of supporting students for their higher education. Amongst 380 supported 100+ students are working at national and multinational organizations. Vishnubhai Amin Orphan and Destitute project provided schooling and comprehensive development to 850 children. The Gold Card Scheme is holding hands of 687 elderly to make their lives convenient. United Way Garba attracted record breaking 35,000 dancers from around the world. Our corporate partner KOCHGLITSCH continued the partnership to provide safe drinking water to 10,000 children. The program Responsibility was attended by 162 Partnership students. Learning sessions on interpersonal communication skills were conducted. Laptops were distributed. Road Shows were conducted from 6th to 14th December 2015 to publicize the project. A total of 3696 students and 99 teachers from 26 schools of western part of Kutch were reached. www.unitedwayofbaroda.org 01 02 03 04 04 Education - Right of Every Child An Educational Kit Distribution program was organized on 14 August 2015 under Vishnubhai Amin Orphan and Destitute Project. Educational kits including school bag, compass box, books, notebooks, sandals, lunch box, water bag, drawing book and dictionary were given to 785 orphan and destitute children identified from municipal corporation schools and local NGOs. Christmas Celebration with 150 orphan and destitute children undertaken to fulfill their wishes. Donation boxes along with Christmas tree indicating their wishes were placed in multiplexes of the city. Gifts were given to the boys and girls as per their wishes by Honorable Member of Parliament – Smt.Ranjanben Bhatt on 5th January 2016. The children were surprised and delighted to receive the gifts as they wished for and could not stop smiling. Children of deceased police personnel were provided school fee and educational material on 23 July 2015 as part of the project. 02 April 2016 Fundraising for improved quality of life of the poor and vulnerable The Annual Fund Raiser - 2015 was held from 13 to 21 October 2015. Salient features were: • 400+ golden bells and 450+ LED lights created beautiful ambience • 100+ thematic banners to promote “Educate the Girl Child” • 35,000+ registered across the globe for dancing • Door step delivery of passes to 50% registered dancers • Comfortable stadium type seating arrangement for more than 100,000 spectators • 100+ multi-cuisine varieties served Rangmanch – Showcasing Talents of Special Children On 24 December 2015, 90 specially challenged children from 12 NGOs were given a platform to showcase their talents. The spellbound performances and viewership of around 500 people made the event livelier. Kala Junction – Fostering Creativity in Children The 15th Inter School competition was organized on 24th January 2016. Essay and Poster making competitions sensitized the children towards social issues of our country. 650 students from 85 schools of the city participated. 30 winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates in the prize distribution ceremony held on12 February 2016. April 2016 03 Impacting Vulnerable Communities INR 18,944 thousands disbursed to support 23 community development project 34,000+ provided 3,500+ 200+ Medical Relief Educated Empowered Treatment for leukemia in children, pediatric and neonatal care, knee and hip surgeries, year round h a e m o d i a lys i s , nutritional food to children, provision of safe drinking water, eye checkups, physiotherapy treatment, sanitation facilities. Primary and Secondary school education, loan to needy students for Higher education, developing leadership skills, non fo r m a l e d u c a t i o n fo r special children, traffic education to ensure road safety. Vocational training to youth and differently abled, providing aids and appliances to facilitate rehabilitation, skill development and overall development, sports infrastructure for hearing impaired children. Corporate Social Responsibility Partnership 10,000+ school children and staff of 15 municipal corporation schools provided s a f e d r i n k i n g w a t e r t h ro u g h C S R partnership with KOCH-GLITSCH. Each school was provided a Reverse Osmosis system and Water cooler.
