The company purchased about 2,200 acres of estate land planted with rubber trees from Kundong Tanjung Pauh Company Berhad. This result was the development of Bandar Darulaman, a new “Satellite Township”. DRSB commenced operations during the fourth (4th) quarter of 1983. The temporary campus of University Utara Malaysia (UUM), then Malaysia’s latest and its sixth (6th) university, was the curtain raiser. DRSB was both the developer and contractor for UUM with the first (1st) phase of construction completed by June 1984. Today, Bandar Darulaman is one of the most established townships in Kubang Pasu, which includes affordable housing, lifestyle living, commercial development, a water theme park and golf resort with all amenities just a stone’s throw away. Then was followed by Darulaman Perdana and Darulaman Utama, where the company had purchased 555.3 acres land at Sungai Petani and 1,100 acres land at Kuala Ketil in year 1995. As of now, the company had developed mixed development comprised residential, commercial industrial and low cost houses (in respond to the Kedah State Government’s call) with the Gross Development Value of RM 104 million. The resounding success of the project, in which DRSB currently has a utilized capital of RM 20 million and an issued and paid-up capital of RM 11,000,002. Darulaman Realty Sdn Bhd (DRSB) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bina Darulaman Berhad, a Public Listed Company listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia which is 54.49% owned by the Kedah State Government via Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah (PKNK). DRSB has a subsidiary known as Darulaman Golf Resort Berhad (DGRB) under its stable with their present activities is golfing and resort. Realizing the motto of “We Turn Dreams Into Reality”, DRSB’s total assets stand at approximately of RM 150 million, while having a team of 40 employees contributing to our strong growth. Since operation, we have sold approximately over 10,000 units, while achieving high value appreciation in our developments. DGRB owns an 18- hole golf course which is managed by Darulaman Golf and Country Club (DGCC). In line with the measures implemented by the government to spur the property sector, coupled with unsold stocks, ongoing projects and new projects launches in Bandar Darulaman and Darulaman Perdana, with Gross Development Value of RM 109 million, and secured of new land area of 410 acres for new development known as Bandar Tunku Puteri in Pokok Sena, the outlook of the company for the coming year appears promising. However, the company remains watchful of the internal and external environment which could affect the company potential such as delay in construction, absence of marketing plan, rising building material cost and etc. With this is in mind, we are constantly reviewing our project’s feasibility and emphasizing on product innovation and value engineering to ensure that we are constantly ahead of the market. Our strength in cost control is also another contributing factor towards facing the coming year . The extensive and diversified mix in terms of both, products and geographical mix will enable sustainability of earnings in future years, with all new developments available at its disposal.
