REMINDERS FROM THE BOARD
The Club is now being promoted by radio and e-mails blasts looking for members
for the coming season. Please let us know if you have heard the spot! We continue to ask
everyone in the membership to help us introduce prospective members to our Club. Please invite
your friends and family for a Golf Day here at WGC and then check with them and see if they
would be interested in becoming a member. More members help all of us share the costs to
maintain our beautiful course and provide additional players for our tournaments and club
activities. We have “ New Member” opportunities. If you have any questions or would like further
information please see Stan Paulaukas or Mari Hall.

Q - After completion of playing hole #6, the balls of Ann Marie and Mary Kay were
inadvertently exchanged and Ann Marie played Mary Kay’s ball from the next teeing ground.
Does Ann Marie receive a penalty for playing the wrong ball?
A - No. A ball played from the teeing ground into the hole is not a wrong ball, even if it does
not belong to the player - see definitions of "Ball in Play" and "Wrong Ball".

2013 JUNIOR CLINIC
This years junior clinic was our largest group to date with 29 kids. Our 7 week series was
highlighted by our year end scramble which was followed by a brief awards ceremony, raffle and
dinner. This year for the first time we decided to split the kids in groups which was determined
by ability. As in the past I was helped out greatly by some parent coaches and former
employees!!!
Colin Keefe has a been a very important person through out the last 4 years with the junior
program. I would like to thank him personally for his continued support and involvement. I would
also like to thank Stan Paulauskas and the Worthington GC Board of Directors and Dave and Dee
Dee from the Blackburn Inn. I would also like to thank the Wednesday evening Ladies League
for sharing the course with the kids for the past 4 years!!! Colin Keefe, Jeremy Stacowicz,
Pete Donatelli, Gabe Shippee an Rich Racz were very instrumental in the success of aiding me
with a group so large.
This years participants were, Levi Zielinski, Juliette and Miles Keefe, Emily and Rachel Figiela,
Peyton, Molly and Baily Shippee, Lydia Donatelli, Siena Stachowicz, Macallister Sullivan, Zander
and Quinn Walton, Hayden Cleveland, Hanah Matica, Carter Drake, Nick Reid, Stephanie

GOOD BYE DADDY
A father put his 3 year old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to
her prayers which ended by saying, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy,
God bless Grandma and good-bye Grandpa." The father asked, 'Why did
you say good-bye Grandpa?' The little girl said, "I don't know daddy, it just
seemed like the thing to do."
The next day grandpa died. The father thought it was a strange coincidence.
A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers
which went like this, "God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and good-bye
Grandma." The next day the grandmother died. "Holy crap" thought the
father, "this kid is in contact with the other side."
Several weeks later when the girl was going to bed the dad heard her say,
"God bless Mommy and good-bye Daddy." He practically went into
shock. He couldn't sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to
his office. He was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch and watched the
clock. He figured if he could get by until midnight he would be okay. He
felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the end of the day he
stayed there, drinking coffee, looking at his watch and jumping at every
sound. Finally midnight arrived; he breathed a sigh of relief and went
home.
When he got home his wife said, "I've never seen you work so late. What's
the matter?" He said, "I don't want to talk about it, I've just spent the worst
day of my life."
She said, "You think you had a bad day, you'll never believe what happened
to me. This morning my golf pro dropped dead in the middle of my
lesson!"
GOLF WISDOM
1.These greens are so fast I have to hold my putter over the ball and hit it with the shadow.
~ Sam Snead
2. I was three over today: One over a house, one over a patio and one over a swimming pool..
~ George Brett
3. Actually, the only time I ever took out a one-iron was to kill a tarantula. And I took a 7 to do
that.
~ Jim Murray
4. The only sure rule in golf is - he who has the fastest cart never has to play the bad lie.
~ Mickey Mantle
5. Sex and golf are the two things you can enjoy even if you're not good at them.
~ Kevin Costner
6. I don't fear death, but I sure don't like those three-footers for par.
~ Chi Rodriguez
7. After all these years, it's still embarrassing for me to play on the American golf tour. Like
the time I asked my caddie for a sand wedge and he came back ten minutes later with a ham
on rye.
~ Chi Rodriguez
8. The ball retriever is not long enough to get my putter out of the tree.
~ Brian Weis
9. Swing hard in case you hit it.
~ Dan Marino
10. My favorite shots are the practice swing and the conceded putt. The rest can never be
mastered.
~ Lord Robertson
11. Give me golf clubs, fresh air and a beautiful partner, and you can keep the clubs and the
fresh air.
~ Jack Benny
12. There is no similarity between golf and putting; they are two different games, one played in
the air, and the other on the ground.
~ Ben Hogan
13. Professional golf is the only sport where, if you win 20% of the time, you're the best.
~ Jack Nicklaus
14. The uglier a man's legs are, the better he plays golf. It's almost a law.
~ H. G. Wells
15. I never pray on a golf course. Actually, the Lord answers my prayers everywhere except on
the course.
~ Billy Graham
16. If you watch a game, it's fun. If you play at it, it's recreation. If you work at it, it's golf.
~ Bob Hope
